The top three drivers are up on the podium. The celebrations are pretty much like the race - routine and unremarkable.

Race 1,000 is unlikely to live long in the memory, probably the thing I'll remember the most is the questionable mustaches on show from some of the drivers.

Sebastian Vettel has got himself a podium for the first time this year, finishing P3, he says: "I’m happy to be on the podium but it was tough to stick with Mercedes from the start. The race with Max was good fun but the objective was trying to chase Lewis and Valtteri down - they were too quick for us today, but congratulations to them.

"I saw Max coming and the speed delta at the end of the straight. Knowing Max, I knew he would try so I predicted that he would go down the inside and he did. I had a moment when I had to open it up, and the last move wasn’t sexy but it worked.

Speaking on Ferrari team orders: "I felt I could go faster than Charles, it was difficult for me to find a rhythm so I locked up and lost the advantage again, and I think it's fair if you see the whole race - we just weren’t able to catch Mercedes. I was hoping for Charles to pip Max at the end but he was too far back."

Pole sitter Valtteri Bottas, who finished P2 says: "I think I lost it at the start. In the dirty air I couldn't follow to take it back so it's a shame. I had some wheel spin off the line so I lost it."

"It's small details but its early days in the season but I'm proud for the team we've done so well in the races so far.

Speaking on losing his championship lead, he says: "I’m coming back."

  5. 'A fantastic result'published at 08:57 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

Our race winner, and new championship leader, Lewis Hamilton says: "It's not been the most straightforward of weekends, but it's a fantastic result for the team. We didn't know where we would lay with the Ferraris. Valtteri had been quick all weekend and he did great today to have a one-two together on the 1000th grand prix.

"The strategists in the team have been on point for these first three races so we need to keep it up. It's so close between us all I have no idea how the next race is going to turn out."

Albon I think has got away with 10th place, something happened and Grosjean dropped away. Now he's not going to be close enough to attack Albon.

Pierre Gasly pits from sixth. He was 30 seconds clear of Daniel Ricciardo so was a risk-free move. He's back on softs as he goes on the hunt of the fastest lap time and that all important point that's on offer for it.
