Any top team should be looking at Lando Norris very seriously. For me 13 races into his F1 career he has all the makings of a champion what he's not doing is getting great first laps, which he did in Belgium and he';s had a couple of occasions where he's done better.

  10. Five shocking moments at Monzapublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 6 September 2019

While the cars are back in the garage for a while, this is a must watch.

    • 1999 - Mika Hakkinen not only retires from the race, but retires from the race he was leading. Heinz-Harald Frentzen of Jordon inherits the victory
    • 2018 - Marcus Ericsson - the driver who had flown from America to Spa last weekend ready to fill in for an injured Kimi Raikkonen, had a terrifying high-speed crash in second practice at Monza as a result of a problem with his DRS going into the chicane. Ericsson was driving for Sauber at the time, and remarkably emerged uninjured.
    • 2009 - Lewis Hamilton crashes
    • 2008 - Sebastian Vettel wins his first F1 race in spectacular fashion
    • 1995 - David Coulthard makes a big boo-boo in the formation lap.

  20. 'Achingly beautiful'published at 14:15 British Summer Time 6 September 2019

    Andrew Benson
BBC Sport’s chief F1 writer at Monza

Monza is achingly beautiful. And it is steeped in an atmosphere born of a rich history almost as long as that of motorsport itself.

Located in a royal park and nestled in dense woodland, Monza has an ambience unmatched by any rival.

Cool, misty mornings in early September Lombardy give way to hot, sunny days. Protected trees cast moody shadows. The light is a golden late-summer haze, the backdrop the foothills of the Alps.

Out there in the woods, the ear-splitting scream of an F1 engine at 18,000rpm (in the pre-turbo-hybrid era) gives way to a silence punctuated by birdsong.
