Charles Leclerc might have a chance here. The medium tyres looked good earlier on in terms of pace and he might fancy a chance of getting through on the mediums.
Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc all have to abandon their laps. Eleven minutes to go.
Valtteri Bottas, on the mediums, is leading the way with a 1:16.466.
The mediums are the tyre of choice for the Mercedes two and the Ferrari two. Softs for everyone else.

Russell is very good under pressure. Always in qualifying - even when things don't look great for him - he can deliver and so often we've seen him so happy with his Q1 lap and it's probably the same now. It's these pressure laps that are so impressive.
By the way, Lewis Hamilton ended Q1 top.

Really strong lap from George Russell. He had a lot of pressure on him but finally chucked in a great lap and delivered 15th place. put it all together, his three best sectors and once again he's through into Q2.
A miserable few days for the Haas pair as they both fall at Q1, only a couple of days after being dropped by the team for next year.
Great effort from George Russell and he moves up to 15th. He scrapes through but he's done it. Kimi Raikkonen is the one to drop into the bottom five.
Vettel safe.
Out - Giovinazzi, Grosjean, Magnussen.

George Russell looks set to out-qualify Nicholas Latifi again, but at the moment it will not be enough for Q2. One lap to go.

You just sense Sebastian Vettel is not quite as hungry for Ferrari anymore, which is understandable, as the team have built their worst car in a long time.
Also Vettel's leaving the team, they've lost faith in him, he's in turn losing faith with them, so he's just counting the days until he leaves and goes to Aston Martin.
Both McLarens in the top 10, Norris eighth, Sainz 10.
Top work from Sergio Perez, currently without a team for 2021. He's fourth, ahead of Charles Leclerc and Alexander Albon.
With three minutes to go in Q1 the bottom five are Giovinazzi, Raikkonen, Latifi, Russell and Magnussen.
Grosjean 15th, Vettel 14th in trouble.
