Our first spinner of the day and it's Pierre Gasly, but he's fine. The first to be caught out by the Istanbul ice skating rink, won't be the last.

I have really enjoyed this year's calendar, Turkey, Imola, Portimao, Mugello. This year has been vintage for an F1 calendar.
It's good to have some races back, but a shame to be back to normal and disregard some of the circuits we've been to.
Vietnam is such a shame, they've built a circuit and Formula 1 may never race there. It feels like they have put so much into it to not get anything back.
Here's a message from the birthday boy.

Last time out, you will remember the heart-breaking scenes when George Russell, on course for his first ever point in Formula 1, crashed behind the safety car late on. Russell was then seen sitting on the grass away from the track looking distraught.
He was full of apologies later on, but a classy message from Lewis Hamilton tried to lift his spirits.

It is awful conditions in terms of grip. Nothing is working, even at low speeds the fronts are locked and the rears are sliding.
Why is it so slippery? This is what Pirelli say.

We have another time on the board and this one is from Sebastian Vettel, who is 18 seconds behind Bottas.
Kimi Raikkonen tries his luck on the ice and he is having to battle so hard to keep it on the track.
Valtteri Bottas continues his rally-driving lone crusade around the Istanbul track. He has set a time of 1:43.009, which is about 21 seconds worse than we expect it to be. But a re-laid track is ever so slippery at the moment and no-one else fancies a go.
Your thoughts on the 2021 F1 calendar
Stoo G: Back when the calendar was routinely 16 races long, I don't remember ever thinking that wasn't long enough. Personally I think 18 is about right, 20 should be an absolute maximum.
Bob McFeil Esq: Why hasn’t Formula 1 learnt from this covid season that the classic European tracks provide the best races? Why are we going to Saudi Arabia instead of Portimao or Mugello? What happened to the racing side of F1?
Dan: I think it would be a real shame but no surprise if F1 chose races in countries with little racing heritage over some of the lesser seen tracks we've seen this season.
Daniil Kvyat is going to have to learn fast this weekend.

Looking at what Bottas is doing, it's an impressive lesson in car control. But at the moment there's no point anyone else going out. Bottas is a guinea pig at the moment. When he does a decent lap time other people may start to get out there.
Meanwhile, we're back out there. A slippery track may get some of the drivers a bit nervous, not Valtteri Bottas though, he's rally-driving it around here. These could be conditions where he thrives.
Eating and racing. It's a great weekend ahead for Carlos Sainz.
