Stroll leads from Perez and Vettel

quixoticgeek: If Racing Point get a double podium finish, they're gonna start every race with a rain dance in future...

Reece Young: This is going to be like 3 different races. The wet race, the inter race and I think we'll get some dry running too. Can Racing Point get enough of a lead to secure the win when it dries up.

Ranting MrP: Hamilton will be world champion, but Perez is going to win this race!

That Leclerc pit stop on to the inters has started the trend. Vettel, Bottas and Hamilton all jump on to the inters too.

"I am not going to be able to go through this train ahead so might as well try something different."

Lewis Hamilton has just set the fastest lap. He's sixth at the moment but remember that's an extra bonus point if he holds on to it and a step closer to the title.

That is a gamble from Leclerc because he is 14th. He has nothing to lose.

Charles Leclerc is into the pits from 14th after lap seven. He's the first to get off the full wets and he's on the inters. A gamble that could be brilliant, it could be disastrous.

Stroll leads rom Perez and Vettel

Charles: Bottas and Ocon doing some beautiful dancing on lap 1.

Rachel T: Go on Seb - doing a great job!

Cactus Jack: Verstappen had a Webber start there.

What a start this has been from Lance Stroll. Flawless so far. Almost everyone behind him is struggling in these conditions, but he's sprinted into a five-second lead, although Sergio Perez has just put the fastest lap on the board.

    "It's drying up."

Vettel is really holding up Verstappen. Remember there is no DRS in these conditions.

Seeing that start again and there's a bunch of cars all squashed together and Daniel Ricciardo, not to blame, was clipped by Hamilton on the inside, so clips the back of team-mate Esteban Ocon, who spins and that spin caused Valtteri Bottas to spin under braking, who was just behind him.

Lance Stroll has a five-second lead over Sergio Perez, who is seven seconds ahead of Sebastian Vettel.

Neither Stroll nor Perez has won a race. Perez is currently without a drive for 2021. This could be a career-saving day for him. Long, long way to go though.

    Stroll is flying away.

The Racing Points are miles faster than anyone else. They could pit now and still be in the top 10.

Sebastian Vettel qualified 12th, got moved up to 11th after a grid penalty for Lando Norris and he's now climbed eight places in two laps. Superb from the four-time world champion.

All of the good start is undone for Hamilton with that mistake.

  18. Postpublished at Lap 2/58

Valtteri Bottas is 18th. Remember, if he finishes lower than sixth then Lewis Hamilton is the champion, no matter what he does.

The two Red Bulls went nowhere off the line. Bottas has tumbled to the back of the field. Great start for Hamilton.

That as one of the strangest starts I have seen. No-one seemed to move.
