Lando Norris is holding on to second, but has the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton all over him. Four laps for the youngster to hold off the world champion.

2ndLesmo: Wasn't Norris fastest in the speed traps?.... Maybe he has a chance.
Inkballer: Ok but Imola has arguably the best corner names on the calendar.
Raj: Hamilton meant it when he said “Let’s race” to Norris. this is very tense.
We're heading for the first points of the season for both Alpine and Alfa Romeo as Ocon is 10th for Alpine with Raikkonen ninth for Alfa Romeo.
Max Verstappen is 18 seconds clear. He won the last race of 2020 at Abu Dhabi, was second three weeks ago in Bahrain in the first of 2021 and on course for victory here.

Peter Stewart: Another one bites the dust, podium for Lewis.
Thomas Knights: DRS is making a mockery of the sport. Far far too powerful. Cars overtaking in a straight line is not exciting.

With DRS the next move in theory on Norris could be easy for Hamilton. It is going to be really tough for Lando to keep his compatriot behind.
What a drive since the restart from Hamilton. Ninth after a crash into the wall, he got fortunate with a red flag, but since we've got going again he has climbed from ninth to third and has seven laps to overtake Lando Norris.
"Awesome work, Lewis. Come on. Just ahead... P2."

Ironically Hamilton passing Leclerc could end Norris' hopes of second.
Hamilton breezes past Leclerc, around the outside and surely it won't be long before he gets to Norris too.
2. Norris, 3. Hamilton, 4. Leclerc.

I think there is a greater chance of Hamilton picking off both Norris and Leclerc than Leclerc passing Norris.
It's all about the battle for second. Lando Norris is currently in position, but Charles Leclerc is very close and Lewis Hamilton is on the charge.
Unless we're getting some late drama, this is going to be win number 11 for Max Verstappen as he is stretching his lead every lap and it now stands at a formidable 15 seconds.

The only defence Leclerc has from a charging Hamilton is to stay in DRS range of Norris in front.
Second-placed Lando Norris, as he has been for the last few laps, is still less than a second clear of Charles Leclerc and it's another superb drive today from the 21-year-old Briton.

"We're happy with that Lewis. Get after it, mate!"

That was a fairly straightforward move from Hamilton.
