Was fourth, but Sergio Perez is now well down the field, losing at least 10 spots.
Max Verstappen, after that heart-racing almost crash, sets the fastest lap of the race.

Lando Norris is second. A lot of you McLaren fans could be getting very, very excited.

That was heart in mouth stuff for Max Verstappen. It was super tight. Leclerc almost could have just gone past him and done his own restart.
Right, lap 36 of 63. Who wins this one? Anything could happen.
The second half has started as dramatically as the first. Yuki Tsunoda who was 10th on the restart, spins and drops to 15th.
It was a rolling restart and Verstappen nearly crashed and ruined his race. That would have sent the heart racing a bit as he went over the grass.

Absolutely remarkable!
We're about to get going - and Verstappen so nearly spins.
He holds on and now we get going again.
Here comes the second half. Go! Go! Go!
Raikkonen has gone off and spins in the gravel so Hamilton and Tsunoda pass him.
The race hasn't even restarted yet.
"Take off the ear plugs here. Take off the ear plugs here, because I've got noise. I can speak but I can't hear you."
Jennie Gow can explain more...
"Charles Leclerc is having problems with his communications.
"Leclerc apparently says it's like somebody else is in his ears and can't deal with it. It sounds like he wants to take his ear plugs out and just have them talk to him via the pit board.
"High-risk strategy, because he'll have to really look out for information."

I wouldn't rule Hamilton out of the podium. His car will be fixed now. He was fighting for the race win before the crash. The red flag has given him a huge chance.
Tsunoda and Vettel are on the softs. Tsunoda pranged in the first few minutes of qualifying but is 10th and on course for a point in his second race, after picking up two in the first race of his career three weeks ago.

We're basically going to have a dry race now. It should be a calmer second half but with cars out of position. There will still be some damp parts off the racing line.

Chris: Although I think Russell was at fault for his crash, the fact Bottas was in a position of being passed by a Williams he was holding up and slower than is reason enough for Mercedes to cut him loose at the end of ‘21. Russell at fault, but had better pace in a slower car.
Sam Cumbley: Racing incident. Valtteri defended as he had a right to, George got too far right and lost grip in the wet grass. It happens, especially when both cars are on slicks and the track is wet offline. Also doesn’t change the fact that Bottas was being overtaken by a Williams.

More replays of the Russell-Bottas argument show Russell having a go at Bottas, who then gives him the middle finger, and Russell slaps his helmet. Not exactly Piquet-Salazar at Hockenheim '82 but still unusual to see that.
