Ferrari have had to change the direction of their development to try and drop some of that drag that has been holding them back. They have been doing a lot of work to increase their top speed and reduce the deficit to Red Bull and it seems to be paying off at this stage.

We've reached lap seven of this 51-lap race and so far, drivers are keeping their noses clean and tyres away from those menacing old city walls.

Max Verstappen needs to be patient. He has the legs on Charles Leclerc. He can afford to be patient and wait until the really long straight. That is where the advantage with DRS lies.
Charles Leclerc manages to hold position but the Ferrari only has eight tenths to work with in trying to defend against the straight-line speed of the Red Bull.
Sainz: "Red Bull is quick."
Ferrari: "Copy."
Here comes Max Verstappen on Charles Leclerc. The Dutchman is in third and has that long, long straight to play with to try and pass the Ferrari.
Red Bull's Sergio Perez has got a healthy 2.391s gap to the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc.

When DRS gets enabled it could well enable Max Verstappen to catapult past Charles Leclerc.
The Williams mechanics were still working on Nicholas Latifi's car when they shouldn't have been. The Canadian was 18th on the grid and is now running last.
