Speaking of Pierre Gasly...
The Frenchman has put his roots down for 2023 and confirmed he will continue to race for Alpha Tauri next season.
Gasly scored his maiden F1 victory with the team at Monza in 2020 and said he was "proud of the journey" the pair had been on together.
The 26-year-old added: "This year's new regulations have created new challenges for us and being able to plan our development with the team for the next 18 months is a good working basis for the future."
"I don't know what's happening, I have no grip," reports Pierre Gasly. In the meantime, Carlos Sainz squeezes a bit more juice out of the scarlet Ferrari and stays top of the board with a 1:28.942.

I don't think it's the thing that you'd expect to see mechanics doing but we just had one mechanic on either side of the car, standing on the car and doing a little bit of bouncing at the same time... I think they're trying to alter the suspension at the rear end.
Fernando Alonso is on the soft tyres and has moved his Alpine up into the upper section of the leader board, clocking a 1:29.695 to go fourth.
Carlos Sainz has gone top of the times, pushing down his former McLaren team-mate Lando Norris into second place. But the Spaniard wobbles through Copse and then reports to Ferrari that he is also experience some unpleasant bouncing when the car is at high speed.

I've walked to Ferrari to see an angle grinder and hoover in action on both cars. I think they're trying to remove a bit of the gurney flap on the rear wing and just file it down.
Norris' time was set on a set of soft tyres.
The quickest drivers have reached the 1:29s now, with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz still leading the field for Ferrari. Lando Norris has come across purple patch in the first sector and the rest of the lap is pretty decent too, as the McLaren goes top of the timing sheets with a 1:29.118.
George Russell now has a set of soft tyres to play with but his time of 1:30.583 is only good enough for seventh place, 0.167secs off the pace of team-mate Lewis Hamilton, who set his fastest marker on the mediums.

Hamilton told Mercedes his car was experiencing a lot of bouncing at high speed.
The updated Williams is serving Alex Albon well, as the 26-year-old muscles his way into the top 10 with a time of 1:30.973 on the soft rubber.
Lewis Hamilton and his Mercedes are finding the going not as smooth as we thought before the session began. The seven-time world champion heads back to the pits so the team can perform a few tweaks on the car's set-up.

David Mateer: Surely it would have been more fitting to put "shoe cam" on Ricciardo's McLaren?
The rain has gone but now it's the wind that has reared its gusty head to create a few tricky moments for drivers to contend with.
Below the top four of Leclerc, Sainz, Verstappen and Perez, Lewis Hamilton has the fifth fastest time on the mediums with a 1:30.416, while the two Alpines are sixth (Alonso) and seventh (Ocon).

George Russell isn't happy. The Mercedes man is on the radio to say he has just been blocked by the papaya McLaren of Lando Norris.
The jury is out on the pedal cam, which is situated behind the pedals of Lando Norris' McLaren.
Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are trading friendly blows as the two continue to set the fastest times on the board.
Leclerc is currently is 0.323secs up on Spaniard Sainz.
Max Verstappen is being annoyed by a noise as he tries to better the time of Charles Leclerc. His Red Bull engineer tells him to stay out, but then the world champion also says the wind is causing a bit bother too.
