Hello again, folks. Thousands of fans were left soggy and unsatisfied after a wet first practice session earlier on today. Hopefully, the skies have calmed slightly and we can see those teams who have brought upgrades to round 10 of the championship in full flow.
Lights will go green for another hour of running at 16:00 BST.
Cheer up, Checo. British weather can change in an instant.

Alfa Romeo’s Valtteri Bottas headed Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton in an inconclusive wet first practice session at the British Grand Prix.
They were the only two drivers to set a lap time on dry-weather tyres at the end of the session before it was curtailed by a red flag caused by Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll.
The Canadian lost control on slick tyres on the damp track at Copse and beached the car in the gravel without major damage.
Only 10 drivers set a lap time in the session.
On wet tyres, Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz set the fastest time, from Bottas and the Spaniard’s team-mate Charles Leclerc, all lapping at different times so their laps could not be compared.

That session doesn't really give us an idea of how competitive teams will be this weekend, so hopefully, the second session will provide more insight - if the rain holds off.
Come back and join us at 15:30 BST.
Catch you soon.

I think he dropped one of his tyres onto the wetter part of the circuit as he turned in and then immediately had no grip and lost the car. But he was going at a very reduced pace into Copse, already cautious because of that wet straight.
He was going at a reduced pace, turned in, lost it, into the gravel, no major dramas, red flag and the session ends slightly early just as the cars were heading out. What a shame.
Ok, well, very little running in first practice, but here are the results anyway.
Valtteri Bottas was top with a 1:42.249. Next up was Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton five tenths behind the Finn in second and Ferrari's Carlos Sainz was third with a time of 1:42.967.
A very stop-start session at Silverstone. The recovery truck is out to move Lance Stroll's car. The fans on the other side of the fence are loving the action.
The greasy surface got the better of Stroll at Copse and the green Aston Martin was crunching over the gravel soon after.
And now it's a red flag. Plenty of fans getting pictures of the stricken Aston Martin.
Yellow flag in sector two as Lance Stroll is in the gravel and well and truly beached.
Whoa. There's a new camera angle this weekend: pedal cam! We've just seen Lando Norris' foot in the McLaren.
Lance Stroll and Sebastian Vettel in the Aston Martin, plus Yuki Tsunoda in the Alpha Tauri have joined Hamilton in putting on the soft tyres to try and get some running on the slicks done before the session ends in a few minutes.
Some hard tyres have been fixed to the Ferrari of Carlos Sainz, however.
It's a set of soft tyres for the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton. Those hards will have to go back in the box.
"Get those hard tyres ready for me, please," Lewis Hamilton instructs his Mercedes crew.
"It'll be softs," is the reply from race engineer Pete Bonnington.

It is just horrible wishy-washy conditions. It's not wet, it never really was properly wet, only in some corners which means that you can't run a slick tyre because you'll just loop it down at Brooklands or Copse... but you can't put on the inters because some of the track is bone dry and you'll just chew straight through them.
"The wind has picked up. Head wind into Turn 15."
Feels more like a Lewis Hamilton exhibition lap as the Mercedes takes to the track all on his own. He is the king of this circuit with eight victories, so if anyone deserves the adulation of the home crowd it's Hamilton.
