"No! No! No!" cries the Spanaird. He pulls off the track as his Ferrari is on fire.
Carlos Sainz has problems!
The purple stop watch settles in next to Carlos Sainz's name as the Ferrari is itching to get closer to the Red Bull of reigning world champion Max Verstappen.
The graphic flashes up to say Carlos Sainz is within one lap of striking distance to Max Verstappen. Battle lines are being drawn.
As Max Verstappen watched the scarlet Ferrari of Charles Leclerc pull away, the Dutchman complained over the team radio about traction. The Red Bull man will have to square up to Carlos Sainz next.

I think that Max Verstappen is a sitting duck up the front there, given Ferrari's superior pace today.
Maybe he can hope for safety car to give him a bit of breathing space. But without it...
The Ferrari of Charles Leclerc is back in the lead of this Austrian Grand Prix after completing a tidy corner move on Red Bull of Max Verstappen.

The question is whether the Ferraris stop again? Yes they are!
Mick Schumacher and Lance Stroll, after being past by George Russell, are having a right old ding dong for eighth place. The Aston Martin driver ends up being caught by both Haas drivers, as Kevin Magnussen decides to join the scrap too. Schumacher is eighth, Magnussen is ninth and Stroll just hangs onto the points place in 10th.

That wide-running penalty against Lewis Hamilton is so marginal...rules are rules, but....
I don't want this race to be decided by penalties.
Lewis Hamilton is told about the black and white. The Mercedes man says 'oh that's OK. No worries."
Well, not quite. "That's BS! I didn't go wide!" is his actual reply.
Hamilton then asks are other drivers being hit with these warnings?
He definitely is, Jack. George Russell does a number on the Haas of Mick Schumacher and Lance Stroll is next. The Aston Martin is a tad trickier for the Mercedes to pass but he gets the job done. The Mercedes is up into seventh.

I thought that George Russell had been cut adrift but actually he could be in the mix for the fight for sixth if he can get in a clean pit-stop.
Charles Leclerc is in possession of a 4.307secs advantage over Ferrari team-mate Carlos Sainz and is consistently clocking fastest laps.
A black and white flag for track limits is dished out to Lewis Hamilton. The stewards certainly are busy today.
