The outcome was the same - Max Verstappen taking another victory - but there was drama all around at Interlagos as the three-time world champion extended his all-time wins record in a single season to 17.

Lando Norris picked up his sixth second-placed finish of the campaign, Fernando Alonso showed his defensive skills are still razor sharp with a stunning display to pip Sergio Perez to third spot and Mercedes had their worst race of 2023, with Lewis Hamilton finishing fifth and George Russell retiring when running 11th.

Russell was joined by Valtteri Bottas, Zhou Guanyu, Kevin Magnussen and Alex Albon retirement home, while Charles Leclerc, who qualified second, spun off on the formation lap with what he said was a hydraulic failure.
