Tyres are being fitted onto Carlos Sainz's car, so he looks good to go again!
Everyone is waiting to find out when Q2 will resume. The track is still being swept up where Carlos Sainz crashed.
"Suspension ok, I tried to crash completely sideways."

Andrew Priestley: That’s maybe not the best way to put yourself in the shop window, Carlos…
Carlos Sainz is able to limp back to the pits and, with 6:44 left on the clock, he could get back out again if the damage is not too much.

If he can get the car he [Sainz] can carry on but he's hit the wall, it's side on but he's gone front corner first and then rear corner, that I think has damaged the car too much for him to continue.
Sam Bird
Formula E driver on BBC Radio 5 Live
Has he damaged the front corner and the rear corner on the right-hand side of that Ferrari?
A spin for Carlos Sainz at the final corner!
He runs wide and his outside tyres are onto the gravel, causing him to spin and into the barrier on the other side of the track.
He's okay, the car is mostly okay, but the red flag is waved.
That doesn't last long as Max Verstappen dips into the 1:33s, clocking 1:33.946 and that's half a second quicker than Lando Norris.
Fernando Alonso briefly has the fastest time but the McLarens then nudge him down to third, with Lando Norris clocking 1:34.460 to set the early pace.

A little bit of weirdness going on for everyone to keep their eyes on, but Alpine's Esteban Ocon has been the quicker driver this season which is a surprise, but they've got a new floor this weekend and Ocon has got it, but Gasly has been quicker all weekend so far.
With 12 minutes to go we have movement as drivers head out onto the track.

Josh Earl: Absolute disaster for Lewis after a positive sprint race. Tomorrow is gonna be painful.
Andrew Priestley: What a difference a couple of hours makes in F1. Lewis Hamilton takes P2 in the Sprint Race this morning with an impressive drive, but he’s dumped out of Q1 in unceremonious fashion later the same day. The race tomorrow will be a long day for him from P18 on the grid.
The second part of qualifying is under way but no one is fancying it yet. Everyone is still sitting in their respective garages.

Silence in the Mercedes garage as Toto Wolff looks up to the ceiling.
The day had started so well for Lewis Hamilton with that second place in the sprint race but he exits qualifying for the Chinese Grand Prix in the first part.
