We've had a day and a half of fantastic competition so far, but we've been channelling our inner Lawro and it's fair to say the crystal ball has been somewhat cloudy.

Yesterday, we gave the big build-up to  Birmingham & West Midlands in the Adult Females but after an opening defeat to Redditch, a win and a draw weren't enough to go through. Sorry ladies!

We also noted a 16-1 first-game win for Simms in Hounslow in same category, but it was QPR Community who went on to win their section.

And in the Walking Football, we thought Amlwch Town Seniors  from Anglesea would be far too busy trying to watch the rugby from Murrayfield to concentrate on their matches in Chester. They went eight games unbeaten to lift the trophy.

So maybe we'll stick to reporting the facts today. And you can help us get them straight by tweeting your results, team photos, match action and, frankly, anything daft from the day that you think the world deserves to see.

Make sure you add #PeoplesCup and we'll add as much as we can over the course of the day.

Did your "big name signing" (Simon below) tell you about this mystery calf injury?

Think you might have to have a word with your club doctor. He shouldn't have passed a medical!

  14. Weather reportpublished at 10:17 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2017

Another windy day in the offing, according to the Met Office, and it looks like the best conditions will be enjoyed this morning by the Under-14 and Under-16 girls:

"Mostly dry with variable cloud allowing some bright intervals. Winds becoming strong by afternoon, with a band of thicker cloud bringing some outbreaks of rain from the west toward dusk."

So more blustery for our Adult Males this afternoon with some gusts in the north and west expected up to 40-50mph at the front edge of Storm Ewan.

Everyone make sure you wrap up and stay warm in between games. It's going to be lively out there!

If you see them (guys with the big cameras) do say hello.

It looks like some venues have already started. Scrap my earlier schedule - it's go, go, go.
