The St. John's Deaf Ladies FC captain Claire Stancliffe sadly couldn't make it to today's finals...

But as she's busy at her England Deaf Football training camp, I guess we'll let her off!

It looks like the team are a bit short on players too so the skipper has a message of support.

  18. Postpublished at 11:20 British Summer Time 27 April 2019

    Ranel: The Artist

Born in England but with cultural ties to Jamaica, Ranel played for the same Sunday league team as his idol Jermaine Defoe (Senrab FC). The way he moves and dribbles is a piece of art and someone you would pay to watch any day. He looks like he’s dancing on the pitch at times and loves a nutmeg.

    Jason: The Marksman

Born in Nepal and currently head of the Bournemouth University Nepalese Society, Jason is a chatty, energetic character. On the pitch, he loves a flick and a trick, and can score some extraordinary goals from tight angles. Give him a yard to shoot and you’ll regret it.

    Pratik: The Cat

Born in Hong Kong, but Nepalese, Pratik's first love is table tennis. But due to his amazing reactions, even when you think there’s no way he’ll save a shot he finds some way to get a hand or foot to it. Pratik saved us in the final of the last round and will continue to make some great saves.

    Diop: The Powerhouse

I've been blessed with a good frame (and modesty), I try and use it to the best of my ability. Having suffered from injuries to my ACL, I'm not able to wear proper football boots when I play. This occasionally effects my shot accuracy, but when they are on target they are lethal for the opposition keeper.

From England, Algeria, Jamaica, Nepal, Hong Kong and The Netherlands...Love Bugs FC are hoping to bring people together from all different cultures and nationalities from around the world with their love of football.

They are competing in the University Male category and here's an introduction to their team (according to Diop...)

    Bastian Tabak: The Engine

Born in Netherlands, football has been a great way for Bastian to make the transition from changing country much easier. He's the engine of the team, never stops running and is good at everything, but in his words not great at anything either.

    Harris:The Maestro

Born in Algeria, his role model is none other than Zinedine Zidane and he’s perfected the roulette turn, capable on both feet and his strike can win the game in an instant. He can always pick that killer pass or make the extra space for a shot.

    Tom: The Gladiator

Born in England, currently in his first year of studies at Bournemouth Uni, he's a hard worker, aggressive in the right ways and loves a battle. He gives his all on the pitch every time, leads from the back and doesn’t give anyone a moment to breathe.

  20. St. George's Park in numberspublished at 11:13 British Summer Time 27 April 2019

Our finalists are playing at St.George's Park, the home of England football,

This is where the England team train; it's where David Beckham has practiced free-kicks and Harry Kane has drilled in penalties for fun.

Basically, it's a pretty fancy place to play five-a-side footie so it's a very special occasion for our teams.

Here's some numerical facts about the venue, because who doesn't love a good list of numerical facts?!
