I'm going to say goodnight now. Until we meet again in June, adieu, and there will follow messages from various golfers and BBC crew in Augusta. Night.
Spieth tremendous - Mickelson
Phil Mickelson, reflecting on his 14 under: "I played just a good, solid round of golf, but I needed something exceptional today. I needed to shoot something in the mid to low 60s to get a chance. It was a fun tournament. I thought I played some great golf but I just got outplayed. I would have taken 14 under at the start of the week and thought that would have won it."
Mickelson on Jordan Spieth: "He's obviously a tremendous player but he's a tremendous individual, too. It's hard not to like, hard not to pull for the guy."
"Spieth has so many attributes, he has the temperament, skill, temper, lifestyle. Everything appears to be working in a wonderfully clear direction."

"I think golf's in great shape. We have a young superstar in Spieth from the US, McIlroy from Europe, Matsuyama from Asia. It's been a long time, not since Tiger was coming up do I think golf's been in such a strong position."

Tributes to Justin Rose, England's former US Open champion gave it bunches this week. He's building a reputation as one of Britain's greatest golfers, and that was his third top-10 finish at Augusta and ninth in majors. World number two Henrik Stenson was one of only two players without a three-putt at Augusta this year, the other being South Korea's Sangmoon Bae.

Masters champion Jordan Spieth gives his views in the Butler Cabin: "It was very nerve-wracking today. I thought today might be a little easier than yesterday. I didn't sleep well last night... and with two major champions behind I couldn't let up. It's the most incredible week of my life, this is as great as it gets in our sport. This is a dream come true for me.
"To shoot some low rounds, make some putts, and hear those roars, it was remarkable. I saw my family and friends right behind the green on the 18th and at that point knew it was going to be a done deal, it didn't kick in there, it still hasn't kicked in. I'm still in shock a little bit.
"I want to be like Bubba. I want to win two Masters. I know being the reigning Masters champion is going to carry a weight with it, I'm sure I'll figure it out in the next year."

The Butler Cabin looks like the study of a reclusive tycoon, who has not had it redecorated since 1962. But great things happen within its walls. Defending champion Bubba Watson and new champion Jordan Spieth sit before Jim Nantz and Augusta National chairman Billy Payne, looking like a couple of school prefects being debriefed by the headmaster and his deputy. And on goes the jacket! Got a little bit snagged on the sleeves, I've seen better.

And... Jordan Spieth 2015.

Off Spieth goes to the scorer's hut, which is less of a scorer's hut and more like the sort of gaff Scarlett O'Hara lived in. Spieth is the second-youngest Masters winner, after Tiger Woods in 1997. It's great to have an injection of youth in the game again - could this be the start of the McIlroy-Spieth era?
"Anyone in the world would say well played, it was a fantastic performance from start to finish. He was under severe pressure at the weekend but got it under control and we are looking at a new superstar, his golf was brilliant."
"Golf has a brand new superstar. His name is Jordan Spieth. What a week, what a performance and golf has a marker for the whole year. How great for golf to have another superstar."
JORDAN SPIETH WINS MASTERS

That bogey at the last means Spieth matches Tiger Woods's 18-under total in 1997 and just misses Tiger's 19-under total at the Open in 2000. Hugs with the assembled family and assorted back-slappers and glad-handers, he'll be taking some strong drink this evening, or at least I hope he will.

Spieth has the luxury of enjoying his walk to the green, a few twirls of the hat, a deep breath, still a bit of work to do. Bit tasty, about six feet past, he needs that putt coming back to break Tiger's Masters record. Not that he'll give a fig.
"The first red 19 on a leader board at the Masters"
Spieth hacks out of the pine straw at 18, we can safely say the Green Jacket is his from here. Rose into 18 and its short and right. We think that's Jordan's mum and dad behind the green, looking jumpy. I'd hate to see his mum if he was only one ahead...
"This is Rory's best Masters to date and I reckon if you'd have said to him at the start of the week 'We'll give you 12-under', he'd have bitten your hand off. It all came down to that one ruinous outward nine of 40 shots on Friday."
"Rory came with so much hype, it was bordering on the ridiculous but he has coped with it remarkably. I am so pleased for Tiger, he hasn't embarrassed us or himself, he had played well enough, not majestically but shown enough spirit, style and quality to give him confidence in the future."
McIlroy happy with round
Rory McIlroy, speaking on BBC Two after finishing 12 under: "I played well. I've played well over the entire weekend, a disappointing finish yesterday... but there are a lot of positives to take from it. I didn't quite have enough and it doesn't look like anyone could have kept up with Jordan this week. I'm sure it's still torture for him, he hasn't got that final putt to go in yet. He should enjoy it, It's great to see another young major champion, it's great for the game."
"I really think Spieth is after the record here. His body language suggests it."
A reminder that with one more birdie for a 20-under par finish, Spieth would better Tiger Woods' 19-under par majors record score from the 2000 Open Championship at St Andrews.

Rose at the par-three 16th and he doesn't like it. Not sure why, it finishes pretty decent and he's got 15 feet for birdie. Spieth made birdie here yesterday but he doesn't need to do anything special today, he can probably afford to bogey the last three holes. The old adrenalin rushing in, he's overcooked it by a club or two and he's down in Tiger Woods country back left.
Spieth leads Rose by four, three to play
Mickelson in for par at 16, he stays four off the lead. A terrapin watches on as Spieth takes aim and rolls in yet another birdie at 15, he's the first man in Masters history to reach -19. He needs one more birdie to break Wood's all-time major record, set at St Andrews in 2000.
Casey thrilled with display
Paul Casey reacts to his mark of nine under on BBC Sport: "It was very good. I'm ecstatic with that. At one point rocking along thinking I could maybe contend for the lead. To get nine under from what I had this week I'm ecstatic. It pales in comparison to the top of the leaderboard but it's a golf course I've loved and it's good to be back here."
On Jordan Spieth's performance: "Zach Johnson won it with one over in 2003. It's a performance reminiscent of a Tiger, blowing the field away. It really is something special. The golf course is greener, softer than in the last but monstrously long. It's brilliant stuff. Players are not easily impressed but a lot in the locker room today are very, very impressed."

Dustin Johnson with a birdie on the 11th. The American now just six shots behind his compatriot Spieth. Too little too late, you'd have thought, unless the three in front of him crumble. A fine effort from the 30-year-old, though, so far. Four birdies. Eleven holes.

"Tiger's grimacing, there's pain etched on that face. Surely he can't default again. He shook his hand in pain after that tee shot at the 10th. Woods went to shake the hand of Ron Townsend, the first ever black player to become a member at Augusta, but he went with his left hand instead of his right. We have another Tiger injury story right here."

"Go on," says Justin Rose, talking to his ball as it glides through the air along the par-five eighth. Steady from the Englishman on that second shot, just steady. Back to Tiger Woods, tee shot on the ninth, and that right wrist still seems to be bothering him - a hooked shot into the trees to the right of the fairway. Phil Mickelson onto the green on the par-four ninth. "Pretty good," says Andrew Cotter.
"Every time Justin Rose gets within three shots, it's like a pat on the neck and Jordan Spieth pulls away again."

Adam Scott, cradling his belly putter, winds up his round with a birdie. The former champion finishing one over for the tournament. Tiger Woods still shaking the pain from his right hand as he walks away from the booby-trapped eighth with a par.

Ken behind the scenes
Many of you are taking to Twitter to champion the work of Ken on the course.
Tiger Woods in agony on the ninth, face contorting in pain. He jammed his right hand while trying to hit the ball out of the pines, with his club seemingly hitting a decaying tree stump. "That's dangerous," says Ken Brown. We predict Tiger Woods will live, though, which gives us reason plenty to report that Phil Mickelson has birdied the eighth.

Bogey for Spieth
Getty ImagesCopyright: Getty Images
Hello there, we've a tasty tussle on our hands. Jordan Spieth with a tricky five footer for par - and he misses, dropping a shot to open the door for Justin Rose once more. The Englishman's putt for par teases the cup, rolls around and around before gravity does its thing. A puff of the cheeks from Rose. Oof, that was close, he says. Three shots between the pair.

Oh - my - giddy - aunt! Justin Rose looked in deep bother, but he's delved into his box of tricks and come up with an astonishing recovery shot... one which flies 20 feet over the flag, bites and gently spins back towards the pin, a foot short from turning into a birdie. He should come away with a par.

I said that Jordan Spieth needs to avoid a big number today, but then so do the chasers. Up at the eighth and the blind second shot. Phil Mickelson needs something to happen soon and that's a good shot. He's got a makeable chip for eagle.
Rose in trouble
Jordan Spieth in the trees on the par-four seventh, gets out but is in the long grass in between the two bunkers which front the green. Not ideal. Justin Rose is also behind the tree. And the spectators' groans tell us what is to come is not good at all. Rose's ball crashes into a branch and flies further into the rough stuff. Deary me.
Birdies for Woods and McIlroy
AFPCopyright: AFP
Tiger Woods' putter has not been firing today but he collects a birdie on the eighth. He's seen muttering something or other as he turns away from the cup. Rory McIlroy with a birdie, too, and merrily moves to eight under for the tournament. The Northern Irishman must be full of ifs, buts and maybes.

What's blue, pink and fizzy?
Apparently Augusta National has invented a new drink named 'Stand 12'.
The name is hardly inventive as it is sold in just one place - behind stand 12 - but the recipe yields something that is half pink, half blue and has a dab of fizz on top.
"Inventor Jasmine Kilgore said the invention came about when she put pink lemonade, blue sports drink and Sprite in a clear Masters cup," reports the Augusta Chronicle.
Spieth into the trees

Jordan Spieth gets the driver out for the first time today on the seventh... pushes it right and the patrons are running for cover, some are forced to leave their seats and the brave ones are running in search of the ball. Justin Rose follows him but is in a worse spot, tucked up behind a huge pine tree. Interesting hole ahead of us. Oh, and there's a birdie for Rickie Fowler on the 16th. The American has produced the best round of the day so far, going six under; seven under for the tournament.

Not even Harry Houdini could get himself out of trouble on this one, and neither can Jordan Spieth. A bogey for the American on the par-four fifth and he drops to 17 under. Willett rues chilly putting
English debutant Danny Willett reacts to his one over par finish on BBC Sport: "It's not too bad. The putter's been very cold all week. We were course mapping well, put it in good spots, but have not been able to catch the lies like some guys have. All in all it's been a brilliant week. The golf course has been really good today. Someone could go out there and shoot a really good number, but at the same chalk you could play a nice round and not quite get it."
"When you are watching Augusta on television you look at the bunkers you don't realise how big and deep they are. They are like sandpits and some are like swimming pools. Unless you find a flat spot at the bottom there is no way to reach the green. The sand has a texture like sugar and you don't want to play out of them."

Justin Rose finds himself 195ft from the pin, he can see the flag fluttering in the distance... but he overcooks it and will have to work his way out of the sand. A chance for Jordan Spieth to turn the screw? He's talking to himself, a far from perfect shot on the fourth from the young American, right of the green, but not as bad as Rose.
Paul Azinger on BBC Two commentary can't decide whether he likes Spieth's chances of getting up and down for par. "It's not a bad spot," he says. "But the green is running away from him."

"On April 12, 1992, Couples caught a break when his tee shot at the par-3 12th hit the bank but did not roll back into Rae's Creek, and he went on to a two-shot victory over Raymond Floyd. Before he knew it, he was headed to Butler Cabin and the ceremony that included Nantz, who was the host for CBS' Masters coverage.
'That's the happiest moment of my career, seeing my buddy win the green jacket like we rehearsed,' said Nantz."

Kuchar, too, makes eagle at 13 to move to +1 - he's six under on the 13th this week. English pair Casey and Poulter have just teed off, you'd think they'd be pretty comfortable together. Off at 1901 BST are Dustin Johnson and Japan's Hedeki Matsuyama.
Like a magnet to the green
Ian Poulter perhaps has cause to feel aggrieved this week. He has hit more greens in regulation - 44 from 54 - than any player in the field yet is 12 shots off the pace on 16 under.

Poulter of course is still waiting for a major title and has a best finish around this famous course of seventh in 2012. He tees off with Paul Casey in a moment and could well end up bettering his best Augusta mark.

Birdie for Garcia at three, the Spaniard moves to -4. Kuchar with the sweetest of approaches at 13, leaving himself a very makeable eagle putt. Palmer for eagle at 13 and that's some touch, feathering the ball into the hole to get to even par for the tournament.
Moore moves to -4, Day to -5

Ryan Moore birdies two to become the lowest player on the course, he's four under. Bradley rolls in his birdie at 13, gets to -3 - the former PGA champion is five under today. Jason Day of Australia birdies the first and is five under for the week.
Donaldson even more on fire
Here's England's Danny Willett with a 15-footer for eagle at 13, pretty makeable this... that looked good all the way but he didn't quite hit it hard enough. But that's a birdie and he's +3. Make that four straight birdies for Wales' Ryder Cup hero Jamie Donaldson, he's four under today through 16 and +1 overall.

A few scores already in - former champion Vijay Singh carded a 71 for +7, Thailand's Thongchai Jaidee is propping up the leaderboard on +9 after a 72. Darren Clarke made 72 today and is +6.
Donaldson takes fire
Kuchar rolls in a long-ranger at 11 - although it was a par putt, it was scrambling of the highest order. Donaldson makes it three straight birdies between 13 and 15, is +2. There are scores to be had out there, we might be in for some excitement this evening.

Willett goes swimming at 12, he missed that by miles. He's the third man in today at that hole, out of only 13 players. Sweden's world number two Henrik Stenson has birdied six to get to -2. Henley and Schwartzel birdie the par-five second to get to -3, lowest totals on the course.

Wales' Jamie Donaldson is climbing through the leaderboard - birdies at 13 and 14 and he's two under today and +3 for the week. Bradley on tee at 12 and he's overcooked it into the back bunker - that's what happens when you sneak up on balls like he does, they don't like it. Walker birdies 13 to get back into the red, he was two under around Amen Corner.

Keegan Bradley may only be tied for 22nd in the tournament but he is at least finishing with a flurry and another good approach shot on the hardest hole on this course does him no harm.
He is safely on the 11th green at two under with a couple of putts awaiting him for par. Bradders is four under today so there is scoring to be had out there.

Mark O'Meara, winner in 1998, had a rough day on Saturday but has got his stuff back together today - he's just bogeyed 12 but is level for his round. Faldo's guide to 15 and 16: Take advantage while you can
BBCCopyright: BBC
Few know the heat of an Augusta back nine on Sunday like England's Sir Nick Faldo, the last English winner in 1996, when he overhauled Greg Norman's six-shot overnight lead in the final round. Here's the three-time Masters champion's advice to playing two signature holes, the par-five 15th and par-three 16th, where water lurks.
"The 15th consistently tests a man's tenacity on Sunday afternoon. The 16th is just as historic," he says.
"The strategy on 15 and 16 is to fine tune your senses, be aggressive, be ultra skilful, realise you're in a special moment in your career, a Masters moment. Take advantage while you can."

Spieth entourage missing one supporter
Jordan Spieth has an army of followers with him at Augusta. The leader is flanked by parents Shawn and Chris, high school sweetheart Annie Verret and a number of friends, but one special person is at home in Dallas and that's his 14-year-old sister, Ellie, who has special needs.

The winner today will earn $1.8m, that is about £1.2m. What could Jordan Spieth, Phil Mickelson, Justin Rose or A N Other do with that bounty? Well, it's enough to buy you five terraced houses (at current prices) in Cheltenham or, alternatively, you could visit the Tower of London around 50,000 times.
Second place earns you roughly £680,000, third nets £415,000, which means fewer trips to the Tower of London but still enough to set up home in Cheltenham.
Learn technique on the range
Henrik Stenson is competing in his 10th Masters and has never finished higher than 14th. At level par, he needs rattle off the birdies to improve on that, but his work ethic is there for all to see as he crushes balls on the range. He's currently working on his driver.

What a wonderful start it's been for Keegan Bradley. The 28-year-old has birdied five of the opening eight holes - a bogey on the first his only blemish. Plenty of birdies (three) for veteran Mark O'Meara too and he'd be enjoying a better score than one under had he not double bogeyed the par-four third.

Spieth a Lefty in disguise?
There's probably a bounce in Phil Mickelson step because he knows Lefties have won three of the last five Masters titles. But hang on, hang on, hang on because a lesser-known fact has filtered through live text HQ, informing us that right-hander Jordan Spieth plays baseball and shoots hoops left-handed. Who knows what to make of that. Something? Nothing?
Phil the thrill primed for "fun" day
EPACopyright: EPA
Some interesting insight from Masters on the Range, highlighting what mood Phil Mickelson (11 under par, five shots behind leader Jordan Spieth), is in: "This is as well as Butch Harman has seen Phil Mickelson drive the ball and we all know if he drives it well today it could be fun for him today. In fact, he just walked on to the range and said 'It's going to be fun today'."
Mickelson has so far hit 32/42 fairways for an impressive 76% driving accuracy, way above the field average of 67%. Kevin Streelman has the most with 37/42 while Spieth has hit 30/42.
It's not over until the fat lady sings
Gary Player didn't mention warbling fat ladies, but he did say this tournament ain't over until it's over, though he did use better grammar.
"It is very difficult to keep a lead," he told BBC Radio 5 live's Sportsweek. "In 1978, I was seven shots behind Watson and came back to win. In 1964 I was nine shots behind Palmer playing the third hole and on the 11th tee I was two shots ahead. You can play a really good round and shoot 75. That is why never it is never over before the last putt is holed."
Spieth some player - Player

Who will win the Masters? Former Masters champion Gary Player told BBC Radio 5 live's Sportsweek that the best putter on the final day will win the tournament.
The good news for Jordan Spieth is that the South African believes the 21-year-old is the most consistent player in the world and the best putter on the planet.
"Spieth doesn't have the swing of a McIlroy but he is the best putter in the world," said the 79-year-old. "Nobody knows what is inside a man, whether he is prepared to make the sacrifices, but if he has the necessary ingredients and makes a little improvement on his back swing he will be a super star. You need to win six majors to be a superstar and there have only been 13 in golf."

Lefty dreaming of a winning Sunday
BBCCopyright: BBC
Time to sound the warning klaxon for the first mention of the day for Phil Mickelson. It probably won't be the last if he maintains yesterday's momentum.
The three-time champion led the pursuit for much of the penultimate day and had the partisan crowds roaring with four birdies on the front nine.
Can he produce a blistering final round? "You dream of playing late in the afternoon at Augusta and having an opportunity to win," said the 44-year-old. "If I can play a good front nine, and that is my goal, I can hopefully be in contention on the back nine."
Anna P: Justin Rose, the Masters Trophy lies over the ocean, the Green Jacket lies over the sea, bring them back to Europe!
James Bamford: Hoping for a Rose challenge tonight, always look out for his scores after being at Birkdale in 1998, let's see some drama!

Alex Taylor Noble: It's set up for an amazing final day! Spieth, Rose or even Mickleson? Amazing final day pairing of McIlroy and Woods!
Moore wants more
American Ryan Moore, who is on three under, is on the range and is asked what his goals are today: "Just play a great round. It's always hard to finish and shoot good rounds so just gain confidence by doing a good job and going up the leaderboard."
The American says he is eyeing a top 12 finish and feels the greens are finally drying out. That will make putting tricky.

(Walker level, Stricker level, Bradley level)
There are plenty of birdies to be had on Augusta's greens early on, which hopefully bodes well for the final groupings. Three birdies for Jimmy Walker takes the American to three under through seven (level for the tournament), Steve Stricker is at it again - brides on the sixth and seventh to skip to three under (level overall). Keegan Bradley is the best of the rest - two under for the day after birdies on the second, third and fourth following a birdie on the first.

McIlroy & Woods together again
Speaking of Rory McIlroy, the Northern Irishman will play alongside former world number one Tiger Woods today, giving their sponsors enough footage for a four-hour advert. The pair will tee of at 19:30 BST.
Both played well on Saturday, but are still 10 shots behind Jordan Spieth - although Woods still holds some hope of an unlikely fight back.
"You just never know," said Woods. "That's the thing about this golf course. We don't know what the committee is going to do. If they're going to give us some accessible, easy eagle pins or tuck them and make this golf course difficult."

It was four years ago that another 21-year-old was leading the Masters by four shots going into the final round, but it ended in a painful collapse as the brutal pressure of Masters Sunday took its toll.

More records for Spieth?
Getty ImagesCopyright: Getty Images
Jordan Spieth is far too polite to reveal who he'd prefer to partner on the final day and he's probably too polite to boast about the records he's broken this week.
The young Texan's two-under-par 70 on Saturday left him on 16 under, a new Augusta record after 54 holes, and kept him on track to become the second youngest Masters champion in history behind Tiger Woods. And Woods's record score of 18 under, made in his never to be forgotten debut win in 1997, is also in danger. See, there's plenty of reason to keep an eye on today's action.

Right, where were we? Ah, yes, Justin Rose. The 2013 US Open champion gave the impression he had no interest in joining the cavalry as Spieth's pursuers began hunting down the leader on a marvellous moving day.
But he rattled off five birdies in the last six holes to close the gap on the American, putting himself in contention and dragging Spieth back into realistic striking distance.
Rose will partner Spieth in the final pairing (teeing off at 19: 50 BST) and the Englishman says going out last will be an advantage. "Jordan is playing some incredible golf, but it will be good to keep an eye on him and try to keep pace," he said.

Will the charging pack catch their man?
The sharp-shooting marksman was all alone, chewing on his toothpick, gently trotting on horseback; nothing for company except cactus and the trail of dust he had left behind after killing off his rivals in a two-day gunfight. He had reigned supreme, hitting target after target, and one by one the others faltered and fell.

Or so he thought before he heard the rumbling of horsehoofs, and through a cloud of grit and dirt appeared his foes; riding, galloping, charging towards him in the horizon.

He stood up in his stirrups. They were still some distance behind. Should he hurry ahead? Or remain calm, confident that they would never catch him?

"I think golf's in great shape. We have a young superstar in Spieth from the US, McIlroy from Europe, Matsuyama from Asia. It's been a long time, not since Tiger was coming up do I think golf's been in such a strong position."
A week to remember
Green Jacket is made to measure for Spieth
How does it fit Jordan?

Tributes to Justin Rose, England's former US Open champion gave it bunches this week. He's building a reputation as one of Britain's greatest golfers, and that was his third top-10 finish at Augusta and ninth in majors. World number two Henrik Stenson was one of only two players without a three-putt at Augusta this year, the other being South Korea's Sangmoon Bae.
The Master reacts

The historic blazer
In 1960, a television interview with tournament co-founder Clifford Roberts and the new champion became a staple of the broadcast.
And here comes the latest one...
Professional players react to Spieth's win
Sergio Garcia: AWESOME @JordanSpieth! Very much deserved 1st mayor! Great player and great guy!
Brooks Koepka: Congrats to my buddy @JordanSpieth on the win! Unbelievable play this week and well deserved win!
Graham DeLaet: What a player that kid is.
Luke Donald: Amazing performance from a great kid, congrats @JordanSpieth #MastersChamp

It's not as if they didn't go low behind him, there were a couple of 66s, but somebody really needed a 64 or 63 to make it properly interesting. And so, to the Butler Cabin, where Jordan Spieth, for all his monumental efforts, will be presented with a blazer that looks like it's spent too long in the window of a provincial gentlemen's clothes shop.

Final leaderboard
It is four days in the making but here is how the 2015 masters leaderboard finished up:
Wire to wire
The Masters has five men who have won wire-to-wire (golf speak for day one to four).
Craig Wood, 1941
Arnold Palmer, 1960
Jack Nicklaus, 1972
Raymond Floyd, 1976
And... Jordan Spieth 2015.

Off Spieth goes to the scorer's hut, which is less of a scorer's hut and more like the sort of gaff Scarlett O'Hara lived in. Spieth is the second-youngest Masters winner, after Tiger Woods in 1997.
JORDAN SPIETH WINS MASTERS
Spieth has four feet, rather jabs at it, misses right. But in it goes coming back for a 70 and the 2015 Masters Championship.

A reminder that with one more birdie for a 20-under par finish, Spieth would better Tiger Woods' 19-under par majors record score from the 2000 Open Championship at St Andrews.
Mickelson cards 69 for third
Mickelson's putt through the fringe at 18 gets snagged, leaving him with a troublesome one for par. In it goes for a 69, -14 and third on the leaderboard. Hoffman makes 74 for -7 and 11th. Rose and Spieth away at the 18th, Rose on the fairway, Spieth just off.

Spieth has been unerring with the short stick all week and that's as ballsy as it gets, a 10-foot saver to stay four clear. Still no emotion from the kid, you'd think he'd just popped one through the mouth of a clown at Margate. That said, he gives a little fist pump as he exits stage left, he might just disintegrate if he wins this...

Mickelson for birdie at 17 but it starts left and stays left. McIlroy into 18 after a booming drive and that's a corker, chance of a birdie form there. Rose's birdie effort is just a touch shy of pace - that's a par, he stays 15 under and four back, at least for the moment...

A two-shot swing here would make it interesting heading into the last two holes. We need Rose to make his birdie and Spieth to duff his chip, at least to keep the lid wobbling on the pot. That looked a little bit nervy from Spieth, he's left himself a 10-footer for par...
Post update
Casey had not played in the Masters since 2012 when he missed the cut.

It's been a tough day for Charley Hoffman, who is playing with Phil and has been rather overawed. He's one over through 15 and -9 overall. Par for McIlroy at 17, he stays 11 under. Rose going with putter through the fringe at 15 and that gives him a good chance of birdie. Here's Spieth with a slippery chip... makes it look easy...

Spieth going for it at 15... bit juicy, that, he doesn't want to thin it back across the green and into the drink. Rose with iron, and he comes up a touch short. Looks like it's going to roll into the creek... stops... starts... stops again. Mickelson demands his caddie, 'Bones', remove the flag before splashing out at 16... ballsy, theatrical stuff and he very nearly pulls it off, spinning his ball back and just past the hole.
Matsuyama cards 66 for -11
Matsuyama, I should say, actually holed his birdie putt at 18 for a 66, the lowest round of the day. He's currently tied for fourth on 11 under.
Poulter rues missed chances
Ian Poulter, nine under for the tournament, speaking on BBC Two: "Obviously, the way I've played at the weekend was a highlight. To only miss three or four greens the entire weekend was impressive golf. But it was about the missed shots on Thursday and Friday. I left myself too much work to do."

Mickelson birdies eighth
(Mickelson -1 today; -12 overall)
Tiger Woods in agony on the ninth, face contorting in pain. He jammed his right hand while trying to hit the ball out of the pines, with his club seemingly hitting a decaying tree stump. "That's dangerous," says Ken Brown. We predict Tiger Woods will live, though, which gives us reason plenty to report that Phil Mickelson has birdied the eighth.
Who needs technology?
John Murray
BBC Radio 5 live commentator
"The only way people can be kept up to date on the 16th is by looking at the big white scoreboard that sits above the grandstand to the side of the 15th green. It's a mobile free zone."
Bogey for Spieth
Hello there, we've a tasty tussle on our hands. Jordan Spieth with a tricky five footer for par - and he misses, dropping a shot to open the door for Justin Rose once more. The Englishman's putt for par teases the cup, rolls around and around before gravity does its thing. A puff of the cheeks from Rose. Oof, that was close, he says. Three shots between the pair.
Post update

Tiger Woods' putter has not been firing today but he collects a birdie on the eighth. He's seen muttering something or other as he turns away from the cup. Rory McIlroy with a birdie, too, and merrily moves to eight under for the tournament. The Northern Irishman must be full of ifs, buts and maybes.

Who will win the Masters?
Thanks for all your votes at the top right of this page.
Many of you lot think the Green Jacket will rest on the shoulders of Jordan Spieth tonight - 42.5% of you to be precise.
Justin Rose landed 33.4% of the vote and Phil Mickelson 10.4%.

Bogey for Rose
(Rose -2 today; -13 overall)
Can Justin Rose save par on the sixth? Nope. The Englishman drops a shot and Jordan Spieth extends his lead to four shots by virtue of playing the percentage game.
Birdie McIlroy, bogey Woods
(McIlroy -1 today; -7 overall)
A birdie on the seventh for Rory McIlroy, his first of the day. No celebrating from the Northern Irishman, he knows his chance has gone, gone, gone. Bogey for Tiger Woods on the seventh. The four-time champion dropping to four under.
Post update
Justin Rose chews his lip as he watches his tee shot on the par-three sixth... the ball lands on the green but it doesn't want to stay there and goes into reverse before nestling in the long(ish) grass. Rose lets go of his club. Work to do if he's to come away with a par. Jordan Spieth not happy with his tee shot, either, groaning as it lands on the back of the green, about 50ft from the flag.

"Four shots is nothing on this course. I never thought it would be an easy day for Spieth although I do think he will win. However I wouldn't be surprised if he is tied at some point. Rose is chipping away at him."
Leader Spieth duffed a chip from off the green at the par-four fifth to walk away with a bogey five and his lead was reduced to three shots.

Bogey for Spieth
(Spieth -2 today; -17 overall)
Not even Harry Houdini could get himself out of trouble on this one, and neither can Jordan Spieth. A bogey for the American on the par-four fifth and he drops to 17 under. Focus returns to Justin Rose. The Englishman deliberating, pausing, adding to the tension, before tapping in from about four foot for par. Spieth now leads by three shots.

Back to Justin Rose in the sugary sand and it's a miraculous effort from the Englishman, the ball stopping dead about three foot from the cup. Over to you, Mr Spieth - and the American botches his effort, his chip sticking to the edge of the green. Oh my word. Ian Poulter with a birdie chance on the ninth... close, close, close but it rolls away.

Post update
Justin Rose finds himself 195ft from the pin, he can see the flag fluttering in the distance... but he overcooks it and will have to work his way out of the sand. A chance for Jordan Spieth to turn the screw? He's talking to himself, a far from perfect shot on the fourth from the young American, right of the green, but not as bad as Rose.
Paul Azinger on BBC Two commentary can't decide whether he likes Spieth's chances of getting up and down for par. "It's not a bad spot," he says. "But the green is running away from him."

Birdie, birdie for Poulter
(Poulter -3 today; -7 overall)
We're on the fifth and watching Justin Rose, driver in hand. His tee shot flies to the moon and back onto the fairway. Ian Poulter, splendidly colourful as usual, lilac his colour of choice today, is moving and a shaking. A birdie on the eighth. A simple tap in, and he's seven under and tied for sixth. Phil Mickelson walks away from the fifth with a bogey. Silence from the patrons.
Johnson climbs the leaderboard
(Johnson -2 today; -8 overall)
Roars for Dustin Johnson as he birdies the seventh. He moves up the leaderboard on eight under. Next we turn our attention on to Adam Scott, belly putter in hand, an eagle in sight, but his effort teases the cup and he's a pimple short.

Sam Koch asked What's your best round and favourite hole (and why) at Augusta? Ken: I managed to shoot 69 once. My favourite hole is the 13th. It's strategically very demanding and looks beautiful.
Eagle for Fowler
(Fowler -4 today; -5 overall)
Phil Mickelson is in a cavernous bunker. he can't see the green from where he is so he just hits it as hard as he can but comes up well short. Rickie Fowler, wearing his traditional last-day orange, with an eagle chance on the 13th. It's a lengthy one, about 30ft, but that's no trouble for the American. Fowler four under for the day five under for the tournament.
Post update
Four shots the difference now between Justin Rose and Jordan Spieth. The Englishman has birdied two of the opening three holes so he can do no more.
The cameras choose to focus on Seung-Yul Noh, which means something is about to happen otherwise why would they show a player who is two over? He's in the bunker short of the 16th green... feather-soft touch... the ball lands on the green, a good dozen feet past the pin but it's Sunday at the Masters and we all know where that ball is going! Noh punches the air and the patrons cheer. Wonderful. He goes to one over for the tournament.

Spieth extends lead
(Spieth -2 today; -18 overall)
Birdie for Jordan Spieth on the third! The leader two under for the day and pops to 18 under for the tournament. All the young American needs to do is par every hole from here on in and he's equalled Tiger Woods' tournament record. It's likely Spieth is going to smash that record into smithereens.
Man in black
Mickelson -12
Phil Mickelson is sporting an all-back outfit today and there is a reason behind it. The American says it helps him "get more aggressive." He has done his research, the three-time Masters winner added: "Studies have shown that when NFL teams wear black they have more penalties." The big question is will black turn into green later?
Birdie for Poulter

And Australian golf commentator Luke Elvy has noticed the wind picking up on holes 15 and 16 which could make things interesting for the contenders in a few hours.
Mickelson birdies two, is -12
Mickelson at two and his magic deserts him, his third comes up short of the green. But that's an arrow-like birdie putt, he's 12 under. Wind picking up at Augusta, I'm told, that could be telling in the final reckoning...
Augusta has wind
Paul Azinger
Former United States Ryder Cup captain and BBC expert
"One thing that has changed this morning is the wind. A little wind could even the scores up. At Amen Corner you can famously see the wind blowing the flag one way on the 11th and a different way on the 12th. The 12th is not a hole you want to go for when the wind blows down there, it becomes swirling and treacherous at best. Woods driving the ball "worse than any player in golf" says Gary Player
Tiger Woods is driving the ball worse than any player in golf.
That is the view of nine-time major winner Gary Player.
"I thought if he can make the cut it would be extraordinary," Player told BBC Radio 5 live's Sportsweek. "He made the cut, wonderful. If he could hit the fairways with his driver he could win but he is the worst driver playing golf.
"I wouldn't be surprised if he never won a major again, I wouldn't be surprised if he won several. Tiger at his best was the best ever. If he never had another lesson, he would have won 22, 23 majors. He got so confused he didn't know if he was Arthur or Martha."
Woods hit just eight of 14 fairways on Saturday and started his final round by hitting the ninth fairway, a fair way from his intended target of the first.

"Fred Couples and Jim Nantz had rehearsed the Green Jacket ceremony that takes place on live television at the end of each Masters Tournament in their dorm room," writes John Boyette in the Augusta Chronicle. "Couples aspired to be a professional golfer, and Nantz had dreams of a broadcasting career.

Post update
A few scores already in - former champion Vijay Singh carded a 71 for +7, Thailand's Thongchai Jaidee is propping up the leaderboard on +9 after a 72. Darren Clarke made 72 today and is +6.
Donaldson takes fire
Kuchar rolls in a long-ranger at 11 - although it was a par putt, it was scrambling of the highest order. Donaldson makes it three straight birdies between 13 and 15, is +2. There are scores to be had out there, we might be in for some excitement this evening.
Weather update
BBC Golf correspondent Iain Carter has the official weather report from Augusta and he warns of a "tricky breeze."
A 30% chance of showers in the afternoon could throw up a few problems if the wet stuff lands.
BBC coverage
Forget about work tomorrow, because for now it is all about the Masters. Hazel Irvine introduces live coverage of the final round on BBC Two and online right now.
Henley & Schwartzel -3
Willett goes swimming at 12, he missed that by miles. He's the third man in today at that hole, out of only 13 players. Sweden's world number two Henrik Stenson has birdied six to get to -2. Henley and Schwartzel birdie the par-five second to get to -3, lowest totals on the course.
Post update
Wales' Jamie Donaldson is climbing through the leaderboard - birdies at 13 and 14 and he's two under today and +3 for the week. Bradley on tee at 12 and he's overcooked it into the back bunker - that's what happens when you sneak up on balls like he does, they don't like it. Walker birdies 13 to get back into the red, he was two under around Amen Corner.
Post update
Willett's birdie putt stays right of the cup, O'Meara rolls in a rare birdie at 12 to get back to +1. Par for Bradley at 11, he remains four under for his round.
Post update
Keegan Bradley may only be tied for 22nd in the tournament but he is at least finishing with a flurry and another good approach shot on the hardest hole on this course does him no harm.
He is safely on the 11th green at two under with a couple of putts awaiting him for par. Bradders is four under today so there is scoring to be had out there.
Post update
Mark O'Meara, winner in 1998, had a rough day on Saturday but has got his stuff back together today - he's just bogeyed 12 but is level for his round. Here's England's Danny Willett at 11 and that's a cracking shot in, right at the pin when so many have stayed out right. Compton just misses with an eagle putt at 13, moves to four over.

Faldo's guide to 15 and 16: Take advantage while you can
Few know the heat of an Augusta back nine on Sunday like England's Sir Nick Faldo, the last English winner in 1996, when he overhauled Greg Norman's six-shot overnight lead in the final round.

Lots of folk fancied Jimmy Walker this week but it never quite happened. Here is is putting for birdie at 12... in it goes, he's back level. Stricker was out in 33, he's also level for the week.

Many thanks Aimee Lewis, this is Ben Dirs for a while. Rickie Fowler is out of the blocks with two straight birdies and back to three under - there are birdies to be bagged on this outward nine. Ernie Els, so full of hope after the first round, is back to -1 after a bogey at the first.
"He knows where she is all the time," Shawn Spieth told the Augusta Chronicle. "It puts everything in perspective. He was always grounded, but that has a lot to do with it."

Tom Fordyce
Chief sports writer at Augusta
"Four-shot leader Jordan Spieth on the putting green - white trousers, dark blue polo shirt, matching cap. Rolling in a bucketload of four-foot putts from around the clockface, looking as emotional as a Buddhist monk. Can he hold that poise when the pips are squeaking and the pack chasing down the back nine?"
Show me the money...
You can watch the action on the range by clicking on the coverage tab at the top of this page and if you want further reason to watch, Bubba Watson has just showed up.
Also on the range, one Masters winner is giving another a bunker lesson. Jose Maria Olazabal is giving Angel Cabrera a full masterclass on how to get out of the sand...

(Bradley -4 today; -2 overall)
What a wonderful start it's been for Keegan Bradley. The 28-year-old has birdied five of the opening eight holes - a bogey on the first his only blemish. Plenty of birdies (three) for veteran Mark O'Meara too and he'd be enjoying a better score than one under had he not double bogeyed the par-four third.

"Mickelson in the practice area, rocking the Johnny Cash vibe once again with his all-black outfit. No more popular man around Augusta than the grinning three-time champion, who manages to combine being a golfer of rare ability with the image of an American Everyman - boyish still at 44, slightly fuller of figure than most professional sportsmen and, in a country that appreciates it more than any other, a magnificent tipper. Tales abound of waitresses, doormen and car-valets being handed $100 bills. Often more than one."

Bit of positive mental attitude from American Dustin Johnson who is -6.
Something? Nothing?
Phil the thrill primed for "fun" day
Some interesting insight from Masters on the Range, highlighting what mood Phil Mickelson (11 under par, five shots behind leader Jordan Spieth), is in: "This is as well as Butch Harman has seen Phil Mickelson drive the ball and we all know if he drives it well today it could be fun for him today.

Time to sound the warning klaxon for the first mention of the day for Phil Mickelson. It probably won't be the last if he maintains yesterday's momentum.
The three-time champion led the pursuit for much of the penultimate day and had the partisan crowds roaring with four birdies on the front nine.
Can he produce a blistering final round? "You dream of playing late in the afternoon at Augusta and having an opportunity to win," said the 44-year-old. "If I can play a good front nine, and that is my goal, I can hopefully be in contention on the back nine."
Number One but not for long

James Bamford: Hoping for a Rose challenge tonight, always look out for his scores after being at Birkdale in 1998, let's see some drama!
Mark O'Brien: Whatever happens this is a great Masters!!! Return of the Tiger! Big names on the charge!! I'm going for Speith, Phil Mickelson and Rose.

Boy band super group?
According to the Golf Channel world number one Rory McIlroy has agreed to perform with the lads when they play in Massachusetts on 12 September. Could Rory McIlroy be the man to replace Zayn Malik in One Direction?
1D's Niall Horan brokered the deal when he caddied for McIlroy in the par-3 contest at Augusta earlier in the week.

Immelman's top tips
In a bid to avoid crashing and burning on the final day, perhaps it's wise to take on board words from a former champion. Trevor Immelman, who missed the cut, has tweeted some advice for the final pairings.
Spieth victory inevitable?
It was four years ago that another 21-year-old was leading the Masters by four shots going into the final round, but it ended in a painful collapse as the brutal pressure of Masters Sunday took its toll.
The Northern Irishman's ball plopped into Rae's Creek, he hooked shots into the pines and looked, at times, close to tears. McIlroy crashed and burned when all expected him to win his first major. In sport, nothing is a foregone conclusion, I suppose...

A four man psychology experiment
The Augusta Chronicle's headline: 'Still in striking distance' sums up the state of play.
"The Masters has basically turned into a four man, 18 hole psychology experiment and each test subject is trying to plant his own seeds of doubt and/or confidence," writes Scott Michaux.
"There's the outsider... there's the guy with three Green Jackets already... there's the Englishman... then there's Spieth, the guy toppling records in wire-to-wire fashion."
Latest scores
(Donaldson +3, Stricker +2)
While some golfers are tweeting pictures of bibles and mugs of tea, others are slugging away on the course. Welshman Jamie Donaldson has made a fine start - birdies on the third and fourth to go two under for the day, three over for the tournament.
Steve Stricker is also in the red thanks to birdies on the first and fourth, which negate that bogey on the third. The American is one under today and two over overall.
Tringale's divine preparation
Tringale tee-time 17:40 BST
Everyone has their own routine before a big day. America's Cameron Tringale has tweeted: "Gospel, Greens, Golf. In that order #sunday #masters". The 27-year-old from California is one under.
More records for Spieth?
Jordan Spieth is far too polite to reveal who he'd prefer to partner on the final day and he's probably too polite to boast about the records he's broken this week.
The young Texan's two-under-par 70 on Saturday left him on 16 under, a new Augusta record after 54 holes, and kept him on track to become the second youngest Masters champion in history behind Tiger Woods. And Woods's record score of 18 under, made in his never to be forgotten debut win in 1997, is also in danger. See, there's plenty of reason to keep an eye on today's action.

Former American professional golfer on BBC Radio 5 live
"Justin Rose, not taking anything away from what a great player he is, doesn't have the intimidation factor Phil Mickelson has. Psychologically, and dynamically, it's a little bit easier for Spieth to play with Rose than with Mickelson."

It's the final day, you're in contention to win the Maters, what would your morning preparations be? Meditation? A fry up? A quick chat with your psychologist? Tweet your suggestions using the hashtag #bbcgolf.
"Perfect start this morning!!" writes Justin Rose on Instagram as he enjoys an early morning cuppa. Wonder if he is brewing a plan to beat Jordan Spieth?
Rose keeping an eye on Spieth

Perhaps this next little fact will help you decide on a winner because 20 of the last 24 Masters champions have come from the final pairing. So, with Justin Rose on 12 under par and Jordan Spieth 16 under, you'd perhaps be wise to bet on either the young American clinching a first major or Rose adding a second to his 2013 US Open victory.

Rose leads chasing pack
If you've been stuck on planet Zog, or just had better things to do than watching grown men whacking a small pimpled ball with a stick for three days, perhaps you don't know a 21-year-old Texan by the name of Jordan Spieth has kept the history scribes busy with record-breaking rounds in Augusta and leads heading into the final day by four shots.
But there's a charging pack behind him, led by England's Justin Rose and including three-time champion Phil Mickelson. Exciting? Just a little.
Post update
Hello! Welcome to live text coverage of the final day of the Masters. We won't be talking about cowboys or bandits, but golfers, the finest on the planet who are aiming to win (one of) their sport's most prestigious prize. Tonight there will be a winner but who we don't yet know.
