That brings our UFC live text coverage to a close tonight. Tyron Woodley proved a step too far for Darren Till in Dallas, but there will undoubtedly be more opportunities for the 25-year-old in the future.

If you're just joining us, Darren Till's quest to become only the second British UFC champion in history ended in defeat as Tyron Woodley submitted him in round two by a d'arce choke.

In the co-main event, Jessica Andrade staked her claim for a women's strawweight title fight against Rose Namajunas by beating Karolina Kowalkiewicz with a brutal one-punch knockout in round one.

Elsewhere, the impressive Zabit Magomedsharipov continued his climb up the featherweight ladder with a submission win against Brandon Davis, and there was a win for British middleweight Darren Stewart on the undercard.

Former interim welterweight champion Colby Covington was briefly linked with a unification fight with Tyron Woodley before Darren Till stepped in as a result of Covington requiring nasal surgery.

Dan Hardy has just been asked on 5 live where Darren Till goes now after this defeat:

"I don't think the hype was down to Till potentially being a UFC champ tonight - it was more down to his personality and how he interacts with the fans," he said.

"If he continues fighting and wins or loses, it doesn't matter, people will still love him."

Hardy then goes on to compare Till's loss tonight to Conor McGregor's defeat to Nate Dias in March 2016, saying he was humble in defeat and quick to congratulate "the better man."

"The best thing to do would be to get him on a European show early next year, perhaps at the new weight of middleweight.

"I don't think the hype train around Till was about whether he was going to win the title tonight, it's about his connection with the fans. He's doing what he loves to do and I think that's why fans gravitate towards him."

Dan Hardy said pre-fight that the keys for a Tyron Woodley win were for him to utilise his wrestling prowess, threaten with his devastating right hand and to control the pace of the fight.

The American ticked every box and Darren Till had no answer.

There will be more opportunities for Till - his MMA record of 17-1-1 speaks for itself - but Woodley was undoubtedly the more accomplished fighter in Dallas tonight.

Till speaking to BT Sport: "Tyron was the better man. I'm just gutted. I've had losses before MMA and it makes you stronger. Make no mistake I will come back stronger.

"It just really really hurts."

Woodley speaking to BT Sport: "He's a tough kid. My coach told me I've got to be ready to go all the way in. I was just taking my time, I saw he wasn't going away easy and took my time to get the job done.

"This feels pretty awesome, I don't believe in ring rust but I've been away for 14 months.

"Any time I say I want to fight somebody it doesn't work out, so I'm just going to beat who is in front of me and carry on being one of the best welterweights of all time."

A beautiful submission move by the champion. Woodley swarmed him on the floor landing punches and elbows. He survived well but wasn't aware of the choke.

Tyron Woodley makes his dominance on the ground count as he transitions into a darce choke. There's no way out for Till and he's forced to tap.

You've got to give credit to Tyron Woodley - that was a dominant performance. And that's why he's the UFC Welterweight champion of the world.

Till is hanging in there but Woodley is still on top - this is where the American's wrestling background comes into play.

The champion is controlling this fight, and hitting Till with regular elbows - we've not seen Till in trouble like this ever in his career. He's cut and is in big danger with one minute of the round remaining.

Woodley shocks Till with a right hand at the start of the round and floors the Liverpudlian. He smells blood and pounces on his opponent, raining lefts, rights and elbows down. Till is in deep trouble here.

"He's doing too much twitching already, he's doing what we've planned.

"You've seen everything he's got now."

Darren Till is showing patience here, waiting for the right moment to strike, much like he did in his last fight against Stephen Thompson.

Tyron Woodley is showing more aggression than Till's last opponent however and again manages to grapple Till against the side of the cage. The referee breaks it up once more.
