    Jessica Andrade v Karolina Kowalkiewicz

After the cancellation of Nicco Montano's flyweight title defence against Valentina Shevchenko, UFC 228's new co-main event pits Brazilian Jessica Andrade against Poland's Karolina Kowalkiewicz.

Although there isn't a championship belt on the line, this strawweight clash does carry title implications.

The winner is likely to earn a shot against current champion Rose Namajunas.

"The stars have aligned for Darren Till to get his opportunity. The pressure is on Tyron Woodley to defend his title. Till did well last time under pressure in his home city of Liverpool and it was a fantastic night.

"I think we will hear 'Sweet Caroline' again tonight and that stayed in my mind for days after last time.

"The one blemish on Till's record is a draw against Nicolas Dalby but Till hurt his shoulder in that fight and could not put pressure on. He came into the UFC at short notice and cruised through the European prospects in front of him.

"I feel like Till is still looking for the man that will be his equal. I think he feels Woodley is the perfect opponent to make him shine."

How does Darren Till prepare in the days before his headline bout against Tyron Woodley at UFC 228?

"We're relaxed, calm, there's nothing to get excited about - it's just another day at the office," says Till's coach, Colin Heron.

    Coolness personified...

  5. Till makes weightpublished at 04:23 British Summer Time 9 September 2018

A lot of the pre-fight chat has been whether Darren Till would make the weight for his title fight tonight following his failure to do so against Stephen Thompson in May.

The good news, for Till fans and neutrals alike, is that he did make the weight this time. The Liverpudlian weighed in at 169 pounds, external, whilst Tyron Woodley hit the mark at exactly 170.

Till followed his weigh-in with two single-fingered gestures, apparently for his doubters. You know the one...

"That was incredible. What is even more impressive is that was a knee bar from behind and that has only ever happened once in the UFC before - earlier tonight in fact.

"He took the back, stretched him out and focused on that leg, hyper-extending it."

  8. Magomedsharipov wins by submissionpublished at 04:19 British Summer Time 9 September 2018

    Magomedsharipov v Davis

    Game over.

It's an extraordinary ending - Magomedsharipov locks in a kneebar on the ground from behind Brandon Davis and hyper-extends the knee. A creative submission from a very impressive fighter.

    Magomedsharipov v Davis

There's been a lot of feigning from each fighter - you get the feeling they're both sizing each other up. Nobody has landed any clean hits. The Russian Zabit Magomedsharipov makes his move towards the end of the round but his takedown attempt is well defended by Brandon Davis.

This fight is just warming up.

    Magomedsharipov v Davis

    Dan Hardy
UFC commentator on BBC Radio 5 live sports Extra

"Zabit Magomedsharipov looks a bit like my old geography teacher and a bit like Abraham Lincoln.

"A decent start by Brandon Davis though using the kick. He's controlling the middle but I do get the feeling Magomedsharipov is reading him."
