  1. Result: Romero stops Manhoefpublished at 23:20 British Summer Time 23 September 2022

    Yoel Romero v Melvin Manhoef

Yoel Romero gets the win in the last round. He's on top of Melvin Manhoef and grinds him into the canvas.

A classic ground and pound stoppage from the Cuban. An elbow puts Manhoef out and the referee steps in.

  2. Round 2published at 23:17 British Summer Time 23 September 2022

    Yoel Romero v Melvin Manhoef

Yoel Romero is dominating this one. He hurts Melvin Manhoef on the feet several times, including a flying knee that just misses it's target.

Manhoef's team are shouting at him to be more active. Both men clearly wary of each other's one-shot power.

  3. Round 1published at 23:09 British Summer Time 23 September 2022

    Yoel Romero v Melvin Manhoef

Melvin Manhoef gets dropped in the first round and spends much of it being smothered by Yoel Romero.

Elbows rain down and Romero tries to go for a Kimura submission, which involves bending the arm backwards away from the body. It hurts, bad. But Manhoef gets free.

Manhoef is 46 years old, he might be wrecked after holding Romero's weight for an entire round.

There's no question who the majority of the Irish fans are backing in this one.

The popular Yoel Romero - who is a former UFC middleweight title challenger - earned a big reception as he made his way to the cage.

Melvin Manhoef, who is competing in the 51st and final fight of his career tonight, isn't without support, however.

There is a large and vocal section of fans, all wearing Manhoef t-shirts, cheering on their man from the Netherlands just to my right.

    This one should be good.

  6. 'I was just so proud of her'published at 22:56 British Summer Time 23 September 2022

Molly McCann just made an appearance on BBC Three.

The UFC star is one of the most exciting fighters in the world right now and she was buzzing for her gym team-mate and close friend, Leah McCourt.

She said: "I'm on cloud nine. I won't swear, I promise! The best thing for me was her plan A is grappling, her plan B is striking. We've tried to make plan B, plan A. She didn't resort to grappling.

"I was saying keep striking. Usually if she's in a bad spot she'd go to the cage, she kept circling and countering. She's overcome adversity with cuts, she's never had to do that. It's a big thing to change gyms, it's a big thing to come in off the last fight - I was just so proud of her."

    Yoel Romero v Melvin Manhoef

Plenty of long-time fight fans will be excited to see Dutch legend Melvin Manhoef call time on his career against former UFC title contender Yoel Romero tonight. But did you know Manhoef also fights crime? Well have we a story for you!

Manhoef was in Paris promoting an upcoming bout against Romero when he heard some worrying news - men could be planning to burgle his home.

His wife and children at his house in the Netherlands had found sheets of paper pushed under his front door - a trick used by thieves who assume if the paper is not picked up within days, then nobody is home.

After his family checked footage on their neighbour's camera, they discovered a man who they didn't recognise placing the paper, and a car waiting around that they had never seen before.

    Manhoef immediately rushed home.

  9. Result: McCourt wins on pointspublished at 22:51 British Summer Time 23 September 2022

    Leah McCourt v Dayana Silva

Leah McCourt is given the nod by the judges in a fight that could have gone either way.

    29-28, 30-27x2 are the scorecards.

Before the results were read out, McCourt was lifted up by UFC fighter Molly McCann who tells her: "You've just shown the world who you are."

A big relief moment for McCourt, who was desperate to get back in the win column.

  10. Round 3published at 22:44 British Summer Time 23 September 2022

    Leah McCourt v Dayana Silva

We're into the final round between Leah McCourt and Dayana Silva.

A bright opening round from McCourt has been snuffed out by an impressive response from the Brazilian in the second.

McCourt has big swelling under one of her eyes, but has demonstrated some impressive striking at times.

  11. 'A well-oiled machine'published at 22:38 British Summer Time 23 September 2022

The SBG gym in Ireland is very well represented tonight with a host of its athletes competing on the card, including Peter Queally, Brian Moore, Ciaran Clarke and more.

At the moment, it is 8-0 for the Ireland-based fighters.

Head coach John Kavanagh told us what it's like when so many of your fighters are in action on the same night.

"I kind of have a system at this stage. Really whether it’s one or two fighters, or seven or eight, it’s not a major difference for me because each fighter will have their own team with them to make sure the weight cut goes fine," he said.

"They travel to the venue, they help them settle in the changing rooms and help warm them up, and then my part is really just when they come cage-side.

"It’s taken a while to come up with that system and there were times when I tried to do everything, which was causing me to get even more grey hair, but now we have it as a fairly well-oiled, smoothly running machine.”

  15. 'I left everything in there'published at 22:20 British Summer Time 23 September 2022

    Leah McCourt v Dayana Silva

Leah McCourt is back in action for the first time since her epic showdown against Sinead Kavanagh in February.

That bout, also in Dublin, was billed as the 'biggest Irish fight of all time'.

It pitted two friends against each other in Belfast's McCourt and Dublin's Kavanagh, in front of a vociferous Irish crowd.

The event was a remarkable occasion, but for McCourt the pressure proved to be too intense as she was outpointed over a gruelling three rounds.

Following the defeat, which came just 16 days after she tested positive for Covid-19, she collapsed.

"I was sick for days, I couldn't breathe for long stretches. I pushed my body to the extreme limits. I left everything I had in there," McCourt, 30, tells BBC Sport.

  16. Wales' Johns grinds out winpublished at 22:14 British Summer Time 23 September 2022

Welshman Brett Johns won earlier in the night with a near-perfect performance against Jordan Winski.

The bantamweight appeared in great shape, but was taken to the hospital after the fight.

Johns' coach Richard Shore revealed his fighter suffered a broken rib during training camp and had not sparred for three weeks.

Good news is Johns gave a smile and a thumbs up from the ambulance. Speedy recovery, Brett!

The noise levels in the 3Arena have definitely risen a few decibels following that gritty come-from-behind victory for Ciaran Clarke.

After being dominated in the first round he recovered well in the second before securing a rear-naked choke in the third, extending his unbeaten record to six wins.

“Look I’m tough. I just want to say the support I got is unbelievable,” he said in the post-fight interview.

“That chin, granite chin – look! Granite chin.”

We've had... eight fights so far, by my count. Local fighter Ciaran Clarke is currently in action against Rafael Hudson.

But the moment of the night so far has got to be this submission from Moldavian welterweight Luca Poclit.

Just when you think you've seen everything in MMA.
