After all the positive talk from the Oak Leaf camp during the week, Derry football looks back to square one after this hammering and Damian Barton faces a monumental task in restoring morale for the long road that is the qualifiers. 

Either Cavan or Armagh will surely present a tougher challenge to the Red Hands on 19 June but Tyrone's favouritism for the Ulster title will only have increased following Sunday's romp.

Mickey Harte is typically measured in his assessment of Tyrone's display, adding that "we will have to face teams who challenge us much more than we were today".

"Goals are very important in championship football and we got them in the first half. Getting the third just before half-time probably won the game for us," said the Tyrone boss.

"Maybe we were not ruthless enough in the second half but it is difficult for players to have the same enthusiasm when you are so far ahead. 

"We will keep our feet on the ground - we are only in the semi-final."

Tyrone complete the most conclusive of victories over their biggest rivals. The Red Hands took their foot off the pedal in the second half. This was an awful day for Derry football.
