First blood to Derry at Celtic Park as their young guns win the Ulster Minor contest 1-15 to 0-10.
Derry manager Damian Barton never shirked the battle during his playing days against the Red Hands. The Newbridge man was in the thick of things in the epic 1995 Ulster semi-final when the 13-man Red Hands earned a 0-11 to 0-10 victory at Clones over the 1993 All-Ireland champions. Tyrone's Pascal Canavan was sent off after clashing with Barton that day. Barton's post-match appraisal of Tyrone's tactics didn't endear him to Red Hand fans. So Barton's presence in the Derry dug-out today throws in a little more spice to an already hot mix.

Tyrone go in as strong favourites but Derry manager Damian Barton has insisted all week that his team can win today. Let battle commence.
