  1. Down's forwards showing some flairpublished at 16:36 British Summer Time 10 June 2018

    Donegal 1-11 Down 0-6

Jamie Brennan is next to add a lovely individual score as he twists down the left before clipping over. Harrison then adds his third of the day. Down look good when they get the ball into their forward line

About two minutes to go to half-time and the gap is at eight.

  2. Donegal utterly dominantpublished at 16:33 British Summer Time 10 June 2018

    Donegal 1-10 Down 0-5

    John Haughey
    BBC Sport NI at Clones

Down keeper Marc Reid just cannot get a kickout to a team-mate with the likes of Michael Langan, Leo McLoone and Hugh McFadden just dominating possession in the middle of the field. McBrearty and Murphy really look in the mood today and when that happens, Donegal are a major attacking force.

  3. Quality growingpublished at 16:33 British Summer Time 10 June 2018

    Donegal 1-10 Down 0-5

Little bit of fight from Down as McParland and Kevin McKernan wrestle a high ball off Murphy, allowing Harrison to add another score.

Ryan McHugh replies straight away though and it's another special effort from the Kilcar man as he displays pinpoint accuracy from range. Donal O'Hare collects a low ball and fires a point over off the post.

  4. First back-to-back scores for Downpublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 10 June 2018

    Donegal 1-9 Down 0-3

Michael Murphy doesn't appear to be in the mood to miss a single shot today as he pops over another free.

Caolan Mooney is getting more and more into the game which is a good sign for the Mourne side. The Rostrevor man feeds Connaire Harrison who gets his first point of the game. Donal O'Hare then adds a free to nibble into that mammoth deficit.

This is incredible stuff from Donegal.

  6. Down off the markpublished at 16:27 British Summer Time 10 June 2018

    Donegal 1-8 Down 0-1

Score of the day from Ryan McHugh with the outside of the boot.

Not to bang the same drum but this is torturous stuff from Down's kick out. So much so that the biggest cheer of the day comes when a short kick out goes into Down hands.

Caolan Mooney then finally registers his side's first score after 24 minutes.

  7. GOAL!published at 16:24 British Summer Time 10 June 2018

    Donegal 1-7 Down 0-0

Leo McLoone scores and this game is as good as over. The 14 men of Donegal are picking off the kick outs at will.

A long effort comes back off the post, McLoone is on hand to collect the rebound, swivel and fire into the net.

  8. Vintage Donegalpublished at 16:22 British Summer Time 10 June 2018

    Donegal 0-7 Down 0-0

This is absolutely wonderful from Donegal. Their forward line are linking quite brilliantly at every opportunity. Brennan finds Brearty who finds Murphy who in turn points his third of the afternoon.

Donegal look every bit the real deal whilst Down are having something akin to a nightmare as Ronan Millar is black carded.

  9. Donegal keep on rollingpublished at 16:20 British Summer Time 10 June 2018

    Donegal 0-6 Down 0-0

Murphy knocks over one of the easiest frees in his illustrious career. Marc Reid's kick out then goes straight into the arms of Michael Langan who feeds Patrick McBrearty for another point.

    One-way traffic.

  10. 'I don't want to say I told you so'published at 16:19 British Summer Time 10 June 2018

    Donegal 0-4 Down 0-0

    John Haughey
    BBC Sport NI at Clones

Well I did warn you. That was stupid by Neil McGee. Donegal were totally in control early on but that red card has given the Mournemen a sniff. Tempers flaring a bit here with plenty of shouts from the stand. This is championship fervour alright.

  11. Hits coming thick and fastpublished at 16:19 British Summer Time 10 June 2018

    Donegal 0-4 Down 0-0

Blood is boiling in Clones following that red card. Caolan Mooney is lucky not to go into the book for a shoulder in the back before Michael Murphy absolutely cleans out Niall McParland.

No suggestion that there was anything untoward in that from the Donegal forward who won the ball well, but McParland won't thank his team-mate Shay Millar whose pass was less than sympathetic.

  12. Red cardpublished at 16:15 British Summer Time 10 June 2018

    Donegal 0-4 Down 0-0

It has been coming. Neil McGee is sent off for a knee into the back of Connaire Harrison. That could be a big moment.

Both players were booked earlier but that's a straight red for McGee.

  13. McGee and Harrison in the bookpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 10 June 2018

    Donegal 0-4 Down 0-0

Just as John has alluded to down below, McGee and Harrison are brought to the referee's attention and both receive yellows for their off-the-ball- antics.

Donegal further extend their lead through Caolan Ward after a lovely flowing move involving McBrearty and Murphy. Alarm bells for the Mourne men.

  15. McGee tussling with Harrisonpublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 10 June 2018

    Donegal 0-3 Down 0-0

    John Haughey
    BBC Sport NI at Clones

Donegal full-back Neil McGee is having regular off-the-ball tussles with Down full-forward Connaire Harrison early on. Both men are appealing to the umpires but so far the men in the white coats are unmoved. One to keep an eye on methinks.

  16. McBrearty nails first attemptpublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 10 June 2018

    Donegal 0-3 Down 0-0

Shay Millar runs a lovely angle but he gets his shot wrong as it scuffs wide. Meanwhile Marc Reid's kick out strategy is not going to plan, as his first three attempts give possession to Donegal.

Paddy McBrearty then knocks over a free from behind the 45 to extend Donegal's lead on the 10 minute mark.

  17. Early defensive concerns for Downpublished at 16:05 British Summer Time 10 June 2018

    Donegal 0-2 Down 0-0

Eoghan Ban Gallagher sets off down the left and is totally untouched by any Down player as he fists over to open the scoring.

Michael Murphy bends a free over the black spot as Donegal take an early two-point lead.

  18. Off we gopublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 10 June 2018

    Donegal 0-0 Down 0-0

Off goes the band. Wicklow's Anthony Nolan is our referee and we are underway. Fermanagh await.

  19. Parade over - let battle commencepublished at 15:59 British Summer Time 10 June 2018

    Donegal v Down (16:00 BST)

    John Haughey
    BBC Sport NI at Clones

The Mayobridge Band from county Down have been providing the musical accompaniment today. Maybe a good omen for the Mourne County.

  20. Weather holding nicelypublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 10 June 2018

    Donegal v Down (16:00 BST)

    John Haughey
    BBC Sport NI at Clones

There were a few darks clouds hovering over Clones an hour ago but the sun has now broken again as the weather looks set to hold.

Both teams are out on the pitch making their final warm-ups. Hard to gauge the crowd. The main Gerry Arthurs Stand looks pretty full although there are plenty of spaces on the Pat McGrane Stand side while both terraces behind the goals are sparsely populated.
