    Dundrod delight

That was a fabulous evening of racing!

It's hard to pick a highlight and there was something in every race - Hicky's lap record, a Supersport classic, a tight Lightweight finish and Jordan's maiden Dundrod win.

Oh, did we mention that the Ulster GP is the fastest road race in the world once more?

See you on Saturday, let's hope the weather plays ball.

Jordan takes maiden international road race win

    Quote Message

I really enjoyed that. I was pushed really hard and knew I had to use my head. It's nice to get my confidence back and reward the lads with the win.

  3. Jordan wins!published at 19:31 British Summer Time 8 August 2019

Magherafelt man wins by 0.092 seconds!

It's a first international road race win for Paul Jordan!

The contenders dropped one-by-one as Elkin was the next to fall away.

Coward got the better of Loughlin and challenged Jordan for victory at Joey's Windmill, but the Northern Irishman fought back and took the lead into Wheelers.

Louglin and Coward tried to make a move on the line but Jordan hangs on by 0.092 seconds.

What a final lap, what a race!

  4. Game on!published at 19:26 British Summer Time 8 August 2019

    Lap 3/4

Jordan is so much quicker through the corners, but Loughlin on that Paton is able to blast past on the straighter stuff.

As he has on the previous three laps, Loughlin sweeps past Jordan on the run to Tornagrough.

Coward and Elkin are still making this nice and tasty.

Johnston's bike blows up exiting the hairpin - sadly he's out of contention.

The four-bike Supertwin train is still rolling! One to go!

  5. Talk about tight!published at 19:22 British Summer Time 8 August 2019

    Lap 2/4

This is some battle for the lead!

1.1 seconds separates Loughlin, Jordan, Johnston, Coward and Elkin at the end of lap two.

Lougher, an 18-time winner at Dundrod, has dropped back to sixth.

  6. Loughlin leads!published at 19:18 British Summer Time 8 August 2019

  9. Down to the wirepublished at 18:49 British Summer Time 8 August 2019

    Hicky leaves it late

    Quote Message

I knew there was no way I was going to get away from Lee. The closest place I could get him was Wheelers and I managed to squeeze him out on the final lap. We probably did a mile-and-a-half side-by-side at the end. Lee's a fantastic rider and it was a dead clean race.

    Peter Hickman

  10. Sensational, simply sensational!published at 18:42 British Summer Time 8 August 2019

    Hickman doubles up!

Hickman tried everything to get past Johnston on that final lap, finally getting the move done into Wheelers!

Hats off to the leading pair, that was sublime. An Ulster Grand Prix classic!

    Harrison was a distant third.

  11. One lap to go!published at 18:37 British Summer Time 8 August 2019

    Lap 4/5

    Does this have to end?

This is fabulous between the leading duo.

Johnston still leads, drifting his way into the Lindsay Hairpin for the penultimate time.

Hicky or the General? Good luck picking a winner here.

Harrison is now a lonely third.

  12. What a battle!published at 18:34 British Summer Time 8 August 2019

    Lap 3/5

Hickman was on the rear wheel of Johnston across the line and got the job done down the Flying Kilo.

The Northern Irishman hits back into Wheelers and this battle look set to continue as we head into the final two laps.

Harrison and Todd are right together for third.

  13. Johnston still leadspublished at 18:30 British Summer Time 8 August 2019

    Lap 2/5

Hickman was all over the back of Johnston on that second lap!

The Northern Irishman holds him off and leads across the line.

Todd has the best view of this in third, but he has no time to enjoy it with Harrison right behind.

    What a scrap this is!

  14. Postpublished at 18:27 British Summer Time 8 August 2019

    Lap 1/5

    Johnston has hit the front!

Hickman is right there in second place with Todd and Harrison lurking.

Don't discount Jamie Coward, Conor Cummins and Michael Sweeney from this either.

This will be quite something down the Flying Kilo for the second time!

  15. Engage gear and we're underway!published at 18:24 British Summer Time 8 August 2019

    Five laps

    We're GO!

It's Davey Todd who gets a flier off the line with Lee Johnston right behind!

Dean Harrison and Peter Hickman complete the top four!

  16. Strictly come dancingpublished at 18:18 British Summer Time 8 August 2019

Kernohan and Morgan battle it out

Neil Kernohan edged out Davy Morgan by 0.062 seconds in the Lightweight class and as you can see it was pretty tight between the pair.

  17. Supersport showdownpublished at 18:09 British Summer Time 8 August 2019

    Four laps

    Now this should be good.

Unsurprisingly, Peter Hickman goes in as favourite for this Supersport showdown, closely followed by Dean Harrison.

Lee Johnston is aiming to make it a hat-trick of 600cc wins at the international road race events this year, and you can't count out the Padgett's duo of Conor Cummins or Davey Todd either.

Will it be a Supersport classic?

    Ballymoney man edges Davy Morgan

    Quote Message

It was a really good race and I knew that Davy had a plan. I knew he wanted to get me at the last corner. The win puts a real smile on my face and builds the confidence for the rest of the week. Hopefully the weather man gets it wrong on Saturday and we can do it again.

    Neil Kernohan

  19. Another red flag!published at 17:50 British Summer Time 8 August 2019

    Kernohan and Dokoupil win

    What a race!

Kernohan wins, but only just from Morgan after a red flag brings an early end to the race.

The pair were tied together throughout and the winning margin is 0.062 seconds on count back. Fabulous stuff from the two Northern Irishman.

Czech rider Dokoupil came out on top in a fun battle with Christian Elkin for Ultra-Lightweight honours and Melissa Kennedy was an impressive third.

Gary Dunlop manages to squeeze into the top 15 on his borrowed Malcolm Love 125cc.

The race was stopped on the final lap to deal with an incident at Tornagrough.

  20. One lap to go...published at 17:39 British Summer Time 8 August 2019

    Last lap flag is out

Kernohan is still keeping Morgan at bay, but only just. The gap is a slender 0.062 seconds.

Dokoupil looks like he is set to pull away from Elkin in the Ultra-Lightweight battle.

But just keep an eye out for this Kernohan/Morgan battle!
