  1. Congratulations Cavanpublished at 18:07 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Cavan 1-13 Donegal 0-12

Well, that's quite enough excitement for one day.

Cavan are Ulster champions for the first time in 23 years, and they are thoroughly deserving ones at that.

Donegal have been denied a third successive Ulster title but Declan Bonner and his young side will be back again next year and vying to reclaim the title.

Today, though, belongs to the brilliant Breffnimen. They will take on Dublin for a place in the All-Ireland final.

They'll probably go into that game as underdogs... where have we heard that before?

You can read the match report from today's game here.

Thanks very much for joining us, have a great evening!

We'll have a video up on our social media channels shortly of Mickey Graham's post-match interview.

He was asked what it means to Cavan, a county that has suffered terribly during the pandemic, to win the Ulster Championship.

An incredibly emotional response from Graham, it meant everything to him.

    Sport, eh?

We had our doom and gloom over the last number of months with Covid. Members of my own parish have passed away and my own community have had a lot of hurt. I just hope we put a smile on everyone's face today by winning.

What can you say? It was everything you ask of a team. Honesty, guts, determination, belief when nobody else had it. We were happy at half-time where we stood, I thought the black cards were harsh but the lads responded really well. It doesn't matter, Cavan are Ulster champions. Words can't describe it, it's just huge.

It's 20 years plus since we won in Ulster. It means everything, especially when you listen to people saying you haven't a chance against Monaghan, you haven't a chance against Down, you haven't a chance against Donegal. I suppose they'll say we haven't a chance against Dublin now.

  7. What a resultpublished at 17:40 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Cavan 1-13 Donegal 0-12

Be honest, how many times did you rule Cavan out during this Ulster Championship?

Monaghan, Down and Donegal. So many times it looked like they were on their way out, so many champagne moments, they have done it.

Let's be clear here, that was no smash and grab. Cavan outplayed Donegal today and are deserved winners.

THEY HAVE DONE IT. CAVAN ARE ULSTER CHAMPIONS FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 1997!

  9. Last chance saloonpublished at 17:37 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Cavan 1-13 Donegal 0-12

Kitchen sink time for Donegal. Every man is up as the ball is played in, but it is deflected behind off a Donegal hand.

It looks to all intents and purposes, with a minute left, that it's going to be Cavan's day.

    Remarkable.

  10. goal

Goalpublished at 17:34 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Cavan 1-13 Donegal 0-12

    OH MY GOOD LORD.

Conor Madden has scored, Cavan are on the cusp of winning the Ulster Championship!

It starts with a sensational catch Thomas Galligan catch in midfield. He is fouled in the process allowing Cavan to launch a free towards Shaun Patton.

The goalkeeper sees it late and can only palm it into the path of Madden who slams it into the empty net.

  11. Huge Patton savepublished at 17:31 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Cavan 0-13 Donegal 0-12

Shaun Patton! Anything Raymond Galligan can do...

There's a Donegal slip and Martin Reilly is in, could have taken the point but goes for the jugular.

Patton rushes out to meet him and blocks the effort, keeping the holders right in the hunt in the process.

  12. Class from Kiernanpublished at 17:29 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Cavan 0-13 Donegal 0-12

Oisin Kiernan, come on down. Way out on the left flank, just sails over the bar and the fist pump is that of a man who smells a seismic upset.

Michael Langan is booked as another Donegal attack breaks down, Cavan are back up to their full compliment of 15. Five minutes of normal time remaining.

It's been a phenomenal performance so far from Cavan, really really impressive. And this considering they were relegated to Division Three just a few weeks ago. It just feels like it's Cavan's day!

  14. What a savepublished at 17:27 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Cavan 0-12 Donegal 0-12

If Cavan win this, that save from Raymond Galligan will go down in county folklore.

Jamie Brennan is through, six yards out, he strikes it well but Galligan reads it and pushes away. Outstanding save.

Donegal are back in a groove though and Caolan McGonigle levels with a brilliant long-range effort.

Buckle up, this is going to the wire.

  15. Cavan leadpublished at 17:24 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Cavan 0-12 Donegal 0-11

James Smith to Martin Reilly, who puts over the equaliser.

Are Donegal rattled? Well, Hugh McFadden is pinged for overcarrying then Neil McGee is instantly penalised for bringing down Reilly.

Gearoid McKiernan puts Cavan in front with the free. 10 to go.

  16. In the balancepublished at 17:22 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Cavan 0-10 Donegal 0-11

James Smith rises brilliantly to take a catch in midfield allowing Martin Reilly to launch a ball on top of Shaun Patton, who does well to fist it away from danger.

Scores have dried up and this is nervy, nervy stuff now. About 15 minutes to go.

  17. Black card for Maddenpublished at 17:18 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Cavan 0-10 Donegal 0-11

Well, well. That's a potential gamechanger as Cavan's semi-final hero Conor Madden is sent to the bin for 10 minutes.

Cavan are fuming at what they believe to be an innocuous, if slightly late, hit on Eoin McHugh.

Donegal made hay in the 10 minutes following Killian Brady's black card. If they do that again now, that could be that.

  18. Cavan going nowherepublished at 17:15 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Cavan 0-10 Donegal 0-11

Conor Madden with his back to goal, drops the shoulder, engineers a yard of space and swings over a brilliant point.

This one is going right to the wire as we reach the water break.

  19. McBrearty freepublished at 17:13 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Cavan 0-9 Donegal 0-11

Neil McGee wins a free from a Gerard Smith foul. Smith then displays some ridiculous theatrics, going down in a heap under a supposed strike from McGee before catching himself on and getting up. He'll be fine.

Patrick McBrearty knocks over the free.

Cavan know they have Donegal on the backfoot and their players are full of energy. They are determined to rip up the script and Donegal know they are in a fight that's going down to the wire.
