Kerry's early salvo suggested they might blow Tyrone away with their pace but things have changed rather quickly with the Kingdom now becoming somewhat rattled by the Red Hands' tenacious tackling. Still early days of course.

It was the same with the hurling final last week, but it's so, so good to have fans back at Croke Park.

They're living every score, kick and hit - and we're going with them!

It's evident when Michael McKernan sends it over for the Red Hands and the roar immediately goes up around Dublin.

    Time will tell...

  17. Minor heartbreak for Red Handspublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 28 August 2021

    Kerry v Tyrone (15:30 BST)

There was disappointment for Tyrone earlier in the day as their minor side fell just short against Meath in the All-Ireland decider at Croke Park, losing by 1-12 to 1-11.

Cormac Devlin's goal helped Tyrone lead 1-3 to 0-2 but Oisin O Murchu's superb finish got Meath on terms before they moved 1-7 to 1-6 ahead by half-time.

Meath extended their lead to 1-11 to 1-8 but Tyrone fought back to level deep in injury-time as Conor Owens pointed.

A Shaun Leonard point restored Meath's lead before Owens agonisingly missed a free chance to ensure extra-time.

  18. Team newspublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 28 August 2021

    Kerry v Tyrone (15:30 BST)

After all the upheaval caused to the Tyrone squad by their Covid crisis, their starting line-up for today's game shows just one change in personnel from the side which started the narrow Ulster Final win over Monaghan.

Frank Burns is drafted into the half-backs as Mark Bradley drops out of the starting line-up with Kieran McGeary named in the half-back line and Niall Sludden switching to the number 12 shirt.

In the team announced earlier today, Tiernan McCann was named at right half-back but a late change now sees Burns coming into the side and he looks likely to operate as a sweeper.

Cathal McShane remains on the bench after not looking particularly sharp after his second-half introduction against Monaghan.

After naming an unchanged team from the Munster Final hammering of Cork, Kerry have also just announced a late change as Darragh Moynihan is drafted in to replace Diarmuid O'Connor in the half-forwards.

  19. 'Kerry favourites before Dublin demise'published at 15:17 British Summer Time 28 August 2021

    Kerry v Tyrone (15:30 BST)

Brian Dooher, a man who knows a thing or two about winning an All-Ireland, believes Kerry are favourites not only for the semi-final, but for the overall title even before Mayo's stunning victory over Dublin.

"Kerry are favourites for the All-Ireland and they were favourites before Dublin were even put out of the championship," he said.

"We've experienced how good Kerry are. We saw that in Killarney when we were overwhelmed by them.

"We don't underestimate the challenge we have ahead of us. We definitely have it all to do.

"But we'll do the best we can and we'll see where that takes us. If it's good enough, it's good enough. If it's not good enough we'll have to go back again and look at things."

  20. How Mayo dethroned Dublinpublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 28 August 2021

    Kerry v Tyrone (15:30 BST)

For the first time since 2015, Dublin's name won't be on the Sam Maguire.

Mayo secured a stunning 0-17 to 0-14 extra-time All-Ireland Football semi-final victory which ended the Dubs' six-year reign as champions.

Dublin looked in total control in the first half as they led 0-9 to 0-2 and still were 0-10 to 0-5 up at the break.

But after their dismal first half, Mayo summoned up an astonishing revival as keeper Rob Hennelly's late 45 levelled the contest at 0-13 to 0-13.

As the Dubs continued to wilt, Mayo pulled clear to win in extra-time.

The Connacht champions, without an All-Ireland title since 1951 and having lost 10 finals since that victory, will face either Kerry or Tyrone in the decider and their semi-final win should give James Horan's men the confidence to end 'the Mayo curse'.
