We're struggling a bit. Kilkenny look sharper. At this time last year we were 14 points down. We have a lot of work to do. We need to take all the chances that come our way but we're still in the game.
They'll probably look at the sweeper now. Clare just need to lift it that bit more. We've also given away a lot of frees at the back so that's something that needs looked at as well.

The level of consistency from TJ Reid over the last decade and more has been incredible. It's all about the team with TJ. He's happy to offload and set up an attack. He's absolutely integral. To be able to rely on your free-taker like that is such a great weapon.

It's a real team performance from Kilkenny. Clare are relying on individual moments and can't get into a rhythm.

Clare got off to a fairly nice start and some of their early points were taken nicely. We saw an unbelievable point from big Peter Duggan. But they were individual scores but the Kilkenny scores are coming from great teamwork.

Kilkenny have had the better of it, but Clare are still in it. They have work to do in the second half, but this time last year they were out of it, so it will be interesting to see what they will do at half-time.
Kilkenny 0-15 Clare 0-10
Kilkenny in charge at the break with TJ Reid starring for the Cats while Clare need to find something after the break if they are not to make another semi-final exit at the hands of Kilkenny.

Did they have to foul TJ Reid there? That free pushes the deficit out to five and that is worrying from a Clare perspective
I think Kilkenny look comfortable, Clare haven't threatened enough.
Kilkenny 0-14 Clare 0-9
A wide for each side and an injury break before TJ Reid pops over another Kilkenny free.

Last-gasp defending from Conor Fogarty, that is why he is there. He was busting a gut to get back and deny the opportunity, that could be a big moment in the game.
Clare are managing to stay in touch and they need to until half-time.
Kilkenny 0-13 Clare 0-8
TJ Reid with another free before Eoin Cody stretches the gap to five points.

Clare can't afford to give these frees away, that is six frees now and they can't give the opportunities to TJ Reid.
Kilkenny 0-11 Clare 0-8
Shane O'Donnell's shot is goalbound but it's a brilliant block from Conor Fogarty.
Clare have to settle for a point from a Mark Rodgers free.

TJ Reid is in fine shooting form today as he puts Kilkenny four ahead from a straightforward free.

Brilliant save from Quilligan, he stood up tall and watched it all the way. Kilkenny are starting to take control, but Clare have been a bit wasteful and dodged a bullet there.
