  2. 'Clare struggling but still in it'published at 16:51 British Summer Time 9 July 2023

    HT: Kilkenny 0-15 Clare 0-10

    Seanie McMahon
Two-time All-Ireland winner with Clare on BBC Sport NI

We're struggling a bit. Kilkenny look sharper. At this time last year we were 14 points down. We have a lot of work to do. We need to take all the chances that come our way but we're still in the game.

They'll probably look at the sweeper now. Clare just need to lift it that bit more. We've also given away a lot of frees at the back so that's something that needs looked at as well.

  3. 'TJ consistency is incredible'published at 16:49 British Summer Time 9 July 2023

    HT: Kilkenny 0-15 Clare 0-10

    Neil McManus
Former Antrim star on BBC Sport NI

The level of consistency from TJ Reid over the last decade and more has been incredible. It's all about the team with TJ. He's happy to offload and set up an attack. He's absolutely integral. To be able to rely on your free-taker like that is such a great weapon.

    HT: Kilkenny 0-15 Clare 0-10

    Lee Chin

It's a real team performance from Kilkenny. Clare are relying on individual moments and can't get into a rhythm.

  5. 'Kilkenny scores coming from teamwork'published at 16:40 British Summer Time 9 July 2023

    HT: Kilkenny 0-15 Clare 0-10

    Neil McManus
Former Antrim star on BBC Sport NI

Clare got off to a fairly nice start and some of their early points were taken nicely. We saw an unbelievable point from big Peter Duggan. But they were individual scores but the Kilkenny scores are coming from great teamwork.

  6. 'Clare still in it'published at 16:40 British Summer Time 9 July 2023

    HT: Kilkenny 0-15 Clare 0-10

    Jamesie O'Connor
Two-time All-Ireland winner with Clare on BBC Sport NI

Kilkenny have had the better of it, but Clare are still in it. They have work to do in the second half, but this time last year they were out of it, so it will be interesting to see what they will do at half-time.

    Jamesie O'Connor

Did they have to foul TJ Reid there? That free pushes the deficit out to five and that is worrying from a Clare perspective

I think Kilkenny look comfortable, Clare haven't threatened enough.

    Jamesie O'Connor

Last-gasp defending from Conor Fogarty, that is why he is there. He was busting a gut to get back and deny the opportunity, that could be a big moment in the game.

Clare are managing to stay in touch and they need to until half-time.

Brilliant save from Quilligan, he stood up tall and watched it all the way. Kilkenny are starting to take control, but Clare have been a bit wasteful and dodged a bullet there.
