A very emotional Glenn Irwin, speaking on Eurosport: "I'm barely able to speak. We spoke before that I had to win the race, and it boils down to yesterday when I overdone the move on Tommy. It put me 10.5 behind going into today.

"The maths was simple. I had to win and have him a couple behind.There is a lot of respect with Tommy. The most important thing is I tired everything. There was no more tricks left in the book. I started the last lap and Kyle was in second. I was watching the TV screen as I was racing. I seen Tommy was in second and I wasn't going to slow down out the back.

"I gave it everything. Tommy deserves it and he rode incredibly well. He's the hardest team-mate I've ever had. Full respect to him. It got heated, but this weekend we have had the craic. It was two guys giving it everything. As a bike fan I'm really happy to him, he and his family deserve it."

Kyle Ryde, speaking to Eurosport: "That was a great race, probably one of my most enjoyable races. I tried my nuts off to win that race. Same old, I got nailed down the back straight and Tommy knew what he had to do. He had to finish second, but I tired my hardest to win that race. To finish on a treble podium is a real high to end the year."

Tommy Bridewell, speaking on Eurosport: "I'm getting a lump in my throat now. I've rehearsed this for a brave few years, I can tell you that. Firstly, I want to say thank you to Glenn. He brought the worst and the best out of me this year.

"I absolutely think he is an unbelievable rider and a..."

*Irwin steps into the interview to congratulate Bridewell*

"I want to say this is for my brother [Ollie, who passed away in an accident in 2007]. Everything I do in my life, I promised him I would become British champion. My life is complete. Whatever happens for me now, I'm complete.

"We also want to dedicate this to our loved boss [Paul Bird], who we lost this year. He took a risk in me. I told him I would give him everything I had got."

It's a poignant win for PBM Ducati after team owner Paul Bird passed away in September.

The team raced on in his honour and both Bridewell and Irwin produced a battle to remember.

Bridewell stopped for a pint at Druids, where he made the winning move, as he celebrates.

He's now celebrating with his pit crew and is adorned with a 'Bridewell #1' flag and t-shirt.

It was a mega move from Bridewell into Druids on the final lap.

You have to feel for Irwin, that was a superb double but it wasn't enough.
