    Monaghan response to falling behind was to claim the next two scores. The first an expertly taken free from goalkeeper Darren McDonnell before Michael Hamill kicked the Farney in front.

    However, their lead was short lived as Shane McGuigan kicked his second free of the game in the seventh minute.

    After recording a six-point win over Tyrone, Mickey Harte has been forced into three changes with injury ruling out Odhran Lynch, Gareth McKinless Cormac Murphy.

    Monaghan manager Vinney Corey continues to be without the services of Rory Beggan and Conor McManus. But Corey can still call upon the services of experienced pair Kieran Duffy and Jack McCarron.

    We said it was tight early on and that was still the case after 35 minutes before Cork let fly in additional time.

    After Cavan managed to pull the game level thanks to Paddy Lynch's two scores, Cork fired over three unanswered points.

    Chris Og Jones, Colm O'Callaghan and Brian Hurley did the damage and Cavan will have to find a way to respond after the restart.

    It's Cork who hold a slender advantage at half-time.

    Cork have extended their lead at Pairc Ui Chaoimh and are just about holding Cavan at bay.

    Brian Hurley and Mattie Taylor have been doing most of the damage so far for the hosts.
