Goal Armagh 1-10 Cavan 0-3published at 17:30 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March

    Peter McGrane (Armagh) 28 mins

Armagh's tenth of the game came after Conor Turbitt turned over Paddy Lynch, as he was bringing the ball out of his defence. Turbitt then supplied Andrew Murnin, who added his second of the game.

And now the home side have extended their lead to 10 points! Connaire Mackin played a deft ball over the top of the defence and corner back Peter McGrane kept his run going, and rounded the goalkeeper like an experienced corner forward, before slotting low into the net.

    Armagh 0-9 Cavan 0-3

We're just over 20 minutes into the game and Armagh already have nine points on the board with Conor Turbitt converting two - the first one was from a mark, before he slotted over from a tight angle.

At the other end, Cavan were in for a potential goal chance with Ciaran Brady looking to feed a fist pass inside for Paddy Lynch, but Armagh's full back Aaron McKay got a crucial interception in to deny the chance.

  3. Armagh extend the lead to fourpublished at 17:18 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March

    Armagh 0-7 Cavan 0-3

Paddy Lynch has been Cavan's stand out player in the league this year, and he has announced himself to the game by landing a superb '45 against the breeze.

But once again it's all too easy at the other end for Armagh, and Greg McCabe scored his second of the game, before Rory Grugan added his third - this time from a free.

    Kildare 0-2 Donegal 0-4

Michael Langan gives Donegal the advantage after Kildare forced themselves into an early lead.

  5. Postpublished at 17:14 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March

    Armagh 0-5 Cavan 0-2

Cavan's Tiarnan Madden lands the most impressive score of the day so far, curling over off his left from 30 metres out.

But Armagh respond immediately with points Greg McCabe and Rory Grugan.

Armagh have started brightly, but they do have the advantage of a strong breeze, so will want to build as healthy a half-time lead as possible.

  6. Veteran forwards do the damage for Armaghpublished at 17:09 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March

    Armagh 0-3 Cavan 0-1

A Rory Grugan point from a free puts Armagh ahead for the first time, before Andrew Murnin landed an impressive score from distance to double their advantage.

  7. Postpublished at 17:03 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March

    Armagh 0-1 Cavan 0-1

Ryan O'Neill put Cavan ahead with an early point. He possibly could have taken the ball in closer and shot for goal, but he took the safer option.

However, Armagh aren't behind for long as Ben Crealey levels matters.

Correction: Connaire Mackin starts for Armagh, not Tiernan Kelly as previously stated.

  9. Team news - Kildare v Donegalpublished at 17:01 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March

A pointless Kildare entertain Donegal with the sides fighting at opposite ends of the Division Two table.

Jim McGuinness has made two changes to his team that cruised past Louth a fortnight ago with Hugh McFadden and Stephen McMenamin coming in.

Kildare meanwhile look certain for the drop after losing their five opening games.

    Donegal: S Patton; M Curran, S McMenamin, J McKelvey; R McHugh, C McGonagle, P Mogan; H McFadden, M Langan; S O'Donnell, C Thompson, O Doherty; P McBrearty, O Gallen, D O'Baoill.

    Kildare: M Donellan; R Houlihan, M O'Grady, R Burke; P McDermott, E Doyle, J Sargent; A Masterson, K O'Callaghan; A Beirne, B Kelly, S Farrell; K Feely, D Flynn, N Kelly.

The ball is thrown in and the action is underway at the Athletic Grounds. Will Armagh claim promotion or will Cavan book their place in the top two ahead of the final round of fixtures?

  11. Late changes for Armagh and Cavanpublished at 16:56 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March

Division Two: Armagh v Cavan (17:00 GMT)

Get the pens and paper ready, because there are plenty of changes to the programme for both sides.

For Armagh, Barry McCambridge and Tiernan Kelly replace Ciaran Mackin and Conor O'Neill. Niall Grimley and Jemar Hall start on the bench - they will wear the numbers eight and 12 respectively.

For Cavan, Oisin Kiernan (Castlerahan), Dara McVeety, Tiarnan Madden and Ryan Donohoe are in for Jason McLoughlin, Padraig Faulkner, Gerard Smith and Caoimhin O'Reilly.

  13. McGeeney says Cavan game 'huge'published at 16:52 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March

    Armagh v Cavan, 17:00 GMT

Kieran McGeeney has made no attempt to play down the importance of tonight's game against Cavan, describing it as "huge".

"Our next game is going to be a very tough encounter against Cavan, a very physical encounter," said the Orchard boss as he lamented his side's shooting despite the 0-15 to 0-11 win over Fermanagh last time out.

"We under no airs or graces about where we're at. The next one is massive one for us. It's a huge one."

  14. Fermanagh in drop zone after Louth hammeringpublished at 16:51 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March

    Louth 6-17 Fermanagh 0-11

Fermanagh dropped into the relegation places in Division Two of the Allianz Football League after they were routed 6-17 to 0-11 by Louth in Ardee.

Louth moved out of the relegation zone as Sam Mulroy's first-half 2-3 helped them win by 24 points.

Peter Lynch and Conor Grimes also netted in the opening half as Louth led 4-6 to 0-6 at half-time.

Ciaran Downey and Tom Jackson also raised green flags to widen the gap in the second half.

Almost certainly, the Ernemen will have to beat promotion hopefuls Cavan at Breffni Park next Saturday night to have any chance of avoiding the drop, with a draw unlikely to be enough to save Donnelly's side.

  15. Team news - Armagh v Cavanpublished at 16:48 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March

Division Two: Armagh v Cavan (17:00 GMT)

Tonight is the biggest game of the season so far for both Armagh and Cavan, with promotion hopes on the line.

If Armagh win, they will confirm their promotion from Division Two. If Cavan win (and Donegal avoid defeat against bottom-placed Kildare), they will jump Armagh in the table on head-to-head going into the final round of fixtures next week.

Armagh make just one change to the side who saw off Fermanagh 0-15 to 0-11 two weeks ago, with Conor O’Neill coming in for Cian McConville.

Cavan make three changes to the side who drew with Meath in their most recent fixture. Cian Reilly, Caoimhin O’Reilly and Ryan O’Neill are in, whilst Ryan Brady, Conor Rehill and Oisin Brady drop out.

    Armagh: B Hughes; P Burns, A McKay, P McGrane; G McCabe, A Forker, J McElroy; Ciaran Mackin, B Crealey; S Campbell, R Grugan, C O’Neill; C Turbitt, A Murnin, O Conaty.

    Cavan: G O’Rourke; C Reilly, K Brady, J McLoughlin; P Faulkner, N Carolan, B O’Connell; K Clarke, J Smith; C Brady, C Madden, G Smith; R O’Neill, P Lynch, C O’Reilly.

  16. Big evening in Divisions One and Twopublished at 16:45 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March

    Allianz Football League

We really are at the business end of the Allianz Football League this evening with three particularly vital looking contests in Divisions One and Two.

Monaghan have been perennial survivors in Division One over the past 10 years but their relegation will be confirmed if they lose against Tyrone at Healy Park tonight.

Conversely a Farney win will leave the Red Hands in one of the drop spots going into next weekend's final round with Vinny Corey's side then hoping to go on to complete another improbable escape act by beating Mayo at Clones.

In Division Two, Donegal and Armagh cannot be separated at the moment with both on nine points and exactly the same scoring difference of +31.

A win for Donegal in Carlow over Kildare tonight, together with an Armagh victory over Cavan at the Athletic Grounds will sort out the Division Two promotion picture with a week to spare.

However, the Orchard men will in all likelihood find themselves outside the two promotion spots going into round seven if they are shocked at home by the Breffnimen.

Cavan, under new boss Raymond Galligan, are only two points off the pace but will move ahead of Armagh on the head-to-head by winning at the Athletic Grounds - providing Donegal avoid defeat by bottom-placed Kildare.

Whatever the result at the Athletic Grounds, a Donegal win will almost certainly guarantee their promotion straight back to Division One, given their big scoring difference advantage over Cavan, in addition to confirming the Lilywhites' relegation.

The three Ulster counties could conceivably all finish on 11 league points, which will mean scoring difference deciding the promotion places, although Jim McGuinness will want his men to avoid having to get into permutations by beating Kildare and Meath in their remaining contests.
