Thanks for being with us once today for our text commentary service.

It wasn't quite as busy as yesterday but the Derry v Mayo had drama aplenty with the Oak Leafers looking in total control as they moved nine up in in the second half, only for Mayo to cut the deficit to just two before Mickey Harte's side closed out the game.

Our other game saw Down drawing in an exciting contest against Westmeath to mean that the promotion issues in Division Three won't be decided until next weekend when the Mournemen will need to avoid defeat at home against Clare to be guaranteed ascent to Division Two.

We'll be back for next weekend's final round of games and while a few issues are already cut and dried, it's sure to be an exciting final two days of round-robin action with the league fate of Derry, Fermanagh, Down and Antrim being decided.

We'll look forward to your company then and in the meantime, enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

  2. Oak Leafers on brink of Division One finalpublished at 17:44 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March

    FT: Mayo 2-13 Mayo 3-15

Derry are not guaranteed a place in the Division One final but may already have done enough, although we'll not know that until next weekend's final round of games when the Oak Leafers host relegation-threatened Roscommon.

The Oak Leafers move back to the top of the table - two points ahead of Dublin and Kerry.

Dublin are at home to already-safe Tyrone next weekend with Kerry hosting Galway.

If Roscommon were to earn a surprise win in Derry, Dublin and Kerry home victories would see the Oak Leafers, Dubs and Kingdom all on 10 points - and the two League final spots being decided on scoring difference.

Derry's current scoring difference is +25 with Dublin on +28 and Kerry +9, so the Oak Leafers' final spot looks reasonable secure.

Mickey Harte's side could also be helped by Kerry's game having the added jeopardy of Galway potentially needing a result in Killarney to stay in Division One - if the Rossies were able to earn a surprise victory at Celtic Park.

But Derry will be in the Division One decider if they avoid defeat next weekend.

  3. Derry fend off late Mayo surgepublished at 17:25 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March

    FT: Mayo 2-13 Derry 3-15

Derry manage to survive the late Mayo fightback as they grab late scores from Niall Toner to finish the job. They aren't through to the Division One final yet, but are certainly favourites to get there.

  4. Down promotion hinges on Clare game after Westmeath drawpublished at 17:21 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March

    FT: Westmeath 0-13 Down 1-10

Earlier today, Westmeath and Down played out a pulsating 0-13 to 1-10 draw in their Division Three game at Cusack Park.

Down led 0-4 to 0-3 at the break after a low scoring first half, before the second half exploded into life after Daniel McGuinness's goal.

It was nip-and-tuck right up to the closing stages, with Ryan McEvoy's late point rescuing a draw for Down.

Both teams remain unbeaten, with promotion to Division Two to be decided on the final weekend of fixtures.

    Mayo 2-12 Derry 3-11

    The momentum has fully turned.

Odhran Lynch makes a stunning save from Jordan Flynn out for a 45 that is converted and Paul Towey lands a point.

Derry then almost caught out with Lynch around the middle but Ryan O'Donoghue's lob goes over.

Suddenly, this game comes alive again. After Tommy Conroy is denied on the line by Diarmuid Baker, Mayo notch a point and then with his first touch just seconds after being introduced, Paul Towey gets on the end of a long ball and finds the net.

The home crowd is finding its voice again.

Just under 20 minutes to play at MacHale Park and that third Derry goal just seems to have taken the sting out of things after a lively start to the second period.

The sides have since traded a score apiece but it's looking quite comfortable for Mickey Harte's men.

    Westmeath 0-13 Down 1-10

There are no further scores in Mullingar as the Division Three top-of-the-table clash ends in a draw. That means Down, Westmeath and Clare can all still earn promotion.

Down play Clare in what is going to be a huge contest in Newry next weekend. The Mournemen will go up to Division Two if they avoid defeat but if the Banner County win at Pairc Esler and Westmeath triumph in Sligo, Conor Laverty's side would miss out on promotion for the second season in a row.

    That half flew by.

Derry gradually began to exert a bit of control and Shane McGuigan's goal caps a fine run to the half-time whistle as they hit 1-4 without reply since Mayo edged in front after 23 minutes.

Indeed, his own haul of 1-4 in the first half has been the difference between the teams.

There's a nice bit off intensity to this game.

Derry pressing Mayo high and force an over-carry that Shane McGuigan punishes, but another free from a similar position drops short.
