I think it was a fantastic race. James looked more like himself and had colour in his face and I'll think he'll come back strong for the relays.

    'Unluckily I came fourth'published at 02:29 British Summer Time 9 August 2016

Great Britain's James Guy, who finished fourth:"I tried to control it a bit but unluckily I came fourth. Chad le Clos is a good guy, he goes really fast. I knew if I had a chance of coming back fast I would but I just missed out. Everyone stepped up their own game. This meet hasn't been perfect but I am 20 and if you said I would make finals I would have taken it. I think I have done OK."

It's not been a great Olympics for Novak Djokovic. After the world number one lost in the singles, he and Nenad Zimonjic have lost in men's doubles 4-6 4-6 to Brazilian pair Marcelo Melo and Andre Sa.

Medal hopes over for Novak? He may yet have a chance in mixed doubles if he is nominated.

What an exciting race. I thought the whole thing would fall off for Chad Le Clos, but what a gutsy race. What a brave silver medal.

What a day at Deodoro. Canoe Slalom, Ed Ling in the trap, British sevens heartbreak, Australia sevens gold and then a marriage proposal on the pitch.

Marjorie Enya - a stadium manager - asked Brazil sevens player Isadora Cerullo to marry here.

"I knew when she made the squad I would do something special," Marjorie tells me.

The couple have been together two years. "She's the love of my life," she adds.

"I knew rugby people would embrace it."

Chinese swimming officials have demanded an apology after Australian Olympic gold medallist Mack Horton called defending champion Sun Yang a "drug cheat".

Tension between the swimming rivals had been simmering in the lead up to the men's 400m freestyle final in Rio.

Horton said earlier this week he had no "time or respect for drug cheats".

Sun served a three-month suspension in 2014 for testing positive for a banned substance but was cleared to compete.

His fans have also been posting a wave of abusive comments to Horton's social media accounts., external
