More gossip on Green Water Gate. An American photographer in the press room suggests that perhaps organisers did not "shock" the water overnight.

"You know, it's like back home, if you don't shock the pool water it turns green. It doesn't look nice, but it isn't dangerous," he says.

If chlorine levels drop, even for one day, it can turn green because of an algae outbreak. Having never owned a pool let alone needed to clean one, I just nod sagely.

Top work from Gary Rose, Stephan Shemilt back with you for a little while. I arrive with rugby news. Great Britain are a score up on Japan after the first half. Remember, though, Japan beat New Zealand earlier today. Anyway, what was with that water in the diving...

We have our judo bronze medallists: despite having her coach sent to the stands, Israel's Yarden Gerbi has won her country's first medal of the games in the women's -63kg.

Anicka Van Emden of the Netherlands beat hometown hero Mariana Silva to take the second bronze medal.

It's good but not good enough. That was agonisingly close, what a shame, they put everything into it but it was not good enough on the day.

The synchronisation was good but not good enough for a medal.

Ah, dash it. Canada step up to the plate and score 80.64 with their final dive.

All or nothing for Great Britain now...but it's not good enough. Their last round dive scores 63.36. Bronze for Canada.

Those lucky enough to bag a ticket inside the Olympic Arena are having a boogie.

The DJ spins a bit of Beyonce as home favourite Rebeca Andrade shimmies around the floor like Queen Bey.

A bit like those girls who you see at 1am in your local nightclub. But better. And less boozy.

China scored 87.36 and can't be caught. Neither North Korea or Malaysia can get a score to trouble them.

Just Canada and Great Britain left to dive. Get this right, and one of these will be heading for bronze...

Is...is the water getting greener? Might just be me but it is looking like a giant vat of lime jelly now. Kudos to the divers, they've cracked on like there's nothing different about it.

China, by the way, have saved their best for last. An absolutely faultless dive. Surely gold in the bag?

Claudio Fragapane is slipping and sliding along that beam. But there is no chance she is falling off. The 18-year-old Bristolian - the star of the 2014 Commonwealth Games - scores 14.333 for her gutsy routine.

Here's Becky Downie. She also plumps for a difficult routine, ending with a bit of stumble on the dismount. It is not too much of a problem.

She scores 14.166 for a team total of 41.965. Huge grins and warm embraces all round when she wanders back to the GB camp.

We have our finalists for the men's -81kg: American Travis Stevens will take on Russia's Khasan Khalmurraeu.

First up it's the women's bronze match. Yarden Gerbi is searching for Israel's first medal of the Games as she faces Japan's Miku Tashiro.

Their synchronisation was excellent. They are very much in the mix. Beautiful diving.

Pressure is on for Tonia Couch and Lois Toulson after some excellent dives. China and Malaysia are scrapping it out for gold, but a score close to 80 is needed to keep GB in the mix for a medal. Can they do it? Yes they can! Their back two and a half somersaults with one and a half twists scores 79.68.

Into the fifth round we go. Tense!

Watching them watching on. I'm not quite sure whether these photographers are focusing on the action at the Aqatics Centre or the colour of the pool. They weren't lining up during the men's 10m synchro final.

Pedro Adrega, head of communications at Fina - swimming's governing body - says (in an unofficial capacity) maybe the divers asked for the colour of the water to be changed to lessen the impact of the glare of the sun.

I'm not quite sure about that thesis, but everyone else is dumbstruck on the matter. Reasons will be given at a press conference apparently, once competition is over.
