New Zealand, remember, were beaten by Great Britain in the semi-finals. The final, against the Netherlands, is at 21:00 this evening.

Russia's women take the bronze in dramatic circumstances, winning the penalty shoot-out 7-6 when it had come down to sudden death. Hungary led 12-11 with one second of normal time remaining, but Anastasia Simanovich equalised and then goalkeeper Anna Ustyukhina made the decisive save.

Spanish world number one wins the women's singles title
Spanish world number one Carolina Martin becomes the first player outside of Asia to win the women's singles title at the Olympics with a 19-21 21-12 21-15 win over India's PV Sindhu.
Spain's Carlina Martin leads 19-14 in the third and deciding game of the badminton final against PV Sindhu.

"I should have been much more responsible in how I handled myself and for that I am sorry," said the 32-year-old, who is accused of vandalising a petrol station toilet and then falsely claiming to be the victim of an armed robbery.
"It's traumatic to be out late with your friends in a foreign country - with a language barrier - and have a stranger point a gun at you and demand money to let you leave."
He apologises to his "team-mates, fans, fellow competitors, sponsors and the hosts of this great event".
