While Sky Brown is looking a dead cert for the final sadly Bombette Martin is out as her score is no longer among the top eight.

Regardless, an incredible moment to be the first Olympian to compete in this event.

Huge applause as Sky Brown completes her run. It looked pretty much faultless to me, nailing a Japan Air one of the highlights.

Now we wait for the score...

Here we go, the debut of the long-awaited Sky Brown at the Olympics.

She is the real deal. A year ago, she would have been a 12-year-old skater and a novelty, but in the year that's gone past she has added power, speed and a phenomenal amount of trick to her repertoire.

GB's Bombette Martin on BBC One: "I thought I was going to be really nervous, this morning I was really nervous, but earlier today I started landing all my runs. Then I was the first one! That was amazing, it will always be such an honour that I was that person. I landed my first run, I was happy with it.

"I'm definitely looking forward to Paris 2024. I'm going to have much higher standards in Paris, this was a good lead-in without the crowds, it was a good first Olympic experience.

"Skateboarding has deserved this, it's been a long time coming. It has such a wide viewership that it deserves something like the Olympics to really show what it is.

Alice Dearing gave an emotional interview after completing the 10km marathon swimming open water event in Tokyo this morning.

She finished 19th in a time of two hours, five minutes and 3.2 seconds, which was five minutes and 30.4 seconds behind the winner Ana Marcela Cunha from Brazil.

However, by taking to the water she became the first black woman to represent Great Britain in an Olympic swimming event.

“I really hope it makes a difference and people look at this (me) and think it’s possible for anyone out there. It’s tough, it’s hard but if you want to learn to swim 25m or go to swim in the Olympics I want people to know that it’s open and available to everybody and just go and give it your best shot.”

"It’s only three years until Paris I’ve got a lot more to give and learn, this is my first Olympics, I’m definitely not done. I’ll go home, take my time get over it and then come back stronger next year and the year after.”
