We're underway in the bronze medal match for the women's football - it's USA against Australia with about 17 minutes gone.

No surprises here as Megan Rapinoe put the World Champions ahead on eight minutes.

And just as I type that, Sam Kerr equalises for Australia - still all to play for.

We're at the halfway point in the men's omnium and with two races to go Great Britain's Matt Walls is level at the top on 76 points with Benjamin Thomas of France and Jan-Willem van Schip of the Netherlands.

Britain's Callum Wilkinson is starting to pick athletes off ahead of him. the chase is yo-yo-ing, they catch up to Wang up in the lead, and then drop off.

He's round about 15th or so position and quite a few people ahead of him are on warnings.

More from Ben Whittaker on BBC Radio 5 Live: "I could've represented myself better but I'm a true competitor at the end of the day - if I'm playing PlayStation with my friends and I lose I'm upset - if I'm running round the track and I lose I'm upset.

"That's the way I am it's the way I've been brought up - I have a winners mentality. If I could rewind and do it again of course I would change it but it's said and done now and all I can do is try and right the wrongs.

"It's just the person I am, I strive to be the best in everything I do and I fell short. He [opponent Arlen Lopez] is a great boxer - in 2014 I wasn't a GB boxer and me and my dad used to watch him on YouTube and my dad said one day you'll fight this guy and I said 'whatever dad' and then yesterday a dream come true - I fought him in the Olympic final.

"I wish it wasn't him because he was a great boxer, but I've got a silver medal. Probably what I'll do now is get the spray paint out and turn it gold! But it is what it is, I'm proud of my accomplishment and we go from there."

GB boxer Ben Whittaker speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "Now it's all said and done I've looked back at what I've achieved and done for the country - I'm proud of myself and hopefully GB is too.

"I'm a human and no nobody likes coming second I just showed my raw emotion - it wasn't the fact I'd lost the gold, it was the embarrassment I'd let people down and let GB down and that's the things that were going through my head. Now I've looked and seen all the good messages I've had from everybody back home it's really cheered me up and made me think you know what as long as I've helped the GB medal tally and GB boxing I can't ask for more.

Jack Carlin is taking on Germany's Maximilian Levy. He goes wide and then sweeps on the inside to take the opening race. It's best of three, so one more win will see him through.
