    Women's keirin

    BBC One

GB's Katy Marchant on BBC One: "I think that's just bike racing - wrong place, wrong time. I hope everyone's alright that was in the crash. I think I'm alright, just a bit battered and bruised.

"I needed to finish the race in case there was something that came up on the results, a relegation or anything. I'm not really sure what happened, wrong place, wrong time, I just got caught up in it.

"I'll be back tomorrow to start the sprint competition."

Chen - the 15-year-old reigning world champion becomes the Olympic silver-medallist.

She has been out-dived and out-classed by someone even younger and more inexperienced!

Quan comes up with an absolute diving masterclass at 14-year-olds. The judges have made their beds and will have to give that all tens as well.

  3. Spendolini Sirieix finishes seventhpublished at 08:20 British Summer Time 5 August 2021

    Women's 10m platform final

Great Britain's Andrea Spendolini Sirieix, daughter of First Dates' Fred Sirieix, has just finished seventh in the 10m platform final.

Lois Toulson, the other British hope, finished ninth.

Strong dives from British pair to finishpublished at 08:17 British Summer Time 5 August 2021

    Women's 10m platform final

    Leon Taylor
Olympic diving silver medallist on BBC TV

Great dive to finish from Lois Toulson. Really strong take off, one of her better finishes and it was just such a shame her second dive went skewiff.

Andrea Spendolini Sirieix finishes beautifully. She was a little bit here-and-there during the dives but she finishes strongly leaving her best until last and she can hold her head up high, having broken the 300 point marker.

    Women's keirin

Katy Marchant has been speaking after that crash, a bit out of breath but she's OK.

"That's just bike racing, wrong place, wrong time," she says. "I hope everyone is alright."

Laurine van Riessen is still receiving treatment on the track at the moment.

'Close and dangerous'published at 08:13 British Summer Time 5 August 2021

    Women's keirin

    Victoria Pendleton
Olympic cycling gold medalist on BBC Radio 5 Live

Keirin is close and dangerous but with the keirin it's how you cross the line they don't usually stop the event - if you pick up the bits of your bike remaining and run across the line that is considered a finishing position.

Whether there is a disqualification or a warning for dangerous warning but usually the places will stand.

'Heavy fall' for Marchantpublished at 08:13 British Summer Time 5 August 2021

    Women's keirin

    Chris Boardman
Olympic cycling champion on BBC TV

It was a heavy fall, an overlap of wheels. Katy was just waiting back, waiting for an opportunity.

There was nothing she could have done about that fall. Just an error from Van Niessen, with terrible consequences.

  8. Marchant crashes in keirinpublished at 08:12 British Summer Time 5 August 2021

    Women's keirin

There's the bell for the final lap, but oh no! There's a crash, two riders go down on the turn and Great Britain's Katy Marchant is one of them.

It looks like the Dutch rider Laurine van Riessen pulled out and slapped right into Marchant's wheel.

Marchant is out at the quarter-final stage, but she is OK, which is the main thing.

Natalie: First Olympics I've been nervous for Jason Kenny, he's said himself he's knackered. He might have been one of those that would have done better if the Olympics was in 2020. Definitely the last Olympics for Jason, still top of the all time GB list is not to be sniffed at.

Jason Kenny did warn us he fancied Jack Carlin, rather than himself, to be Great Britain's best medal hope. The 33-year-old is out of it yet, however.

    'It's not over yet'published at 08:06 British Summer Time 5 August 2021

    Men's sprint

    Victoria Pendleton
Olympic cycling gold medalist on BBC Radio 5 Live

Jason Kenny was well beaten there - the difference in qualifying time would suggest that Denis Dmitriev has a bit of an advantage. However I would've thought that Jason's natural racing skills would overcome that, he's intuitive. He tried to come round the outside but Dmitriev turned up the pace and kept Jason on his hip so he couldn't overtake him.

Jason will have a good chance in the repechages to come through - it's not over yet.

    Men's individual sprint

    Chris Boardman
Olympic cycling champion on BBC TV

I thought he was going to get there, it was a good ride but not enough.

Jason Kenny is relaxed and smiling on the line, then as soon as his hands touch the handlebars he's a different character.

He's unpredictable, he keeps people off balance. Including us.

Kenny into repechagepublished at 08:04 British Summer Time 5 August 2021

    Men's individual sprint

It must be intimidating peering over your shoulder and seeing Jason Kenny lurking with intent, the six-time Olympic gold medallist can't quite get the edge on Denis Dmitriev though and it's the Russian who holds on to cross the line first.

Kenny still has a chance in the repechage, mind...

  15. Quan untouchablepublished at 08:03 British Summer Time 5 August 2021

    Women's 10m platform final

    Leon Taylor
Olympic diving silver medallist on BBC TV

Chen has an absolute peach of a dive and once more the pressure is firmly on countrywoman Quan.

That is the best dive I've seen for Quan. She got straight tens earlier and the dive she did wasn't as good as that!

    Two perfect dives!

    Men's individual sprint

We've seen a lot of riders win from the front and we were wondering if anyone was going to favour coming in from the distance and use the slipstream to run in and over a rider.

Jack Carlin timed that very well and came with such speed the poor Frenchman didn't have a chance.

Slight errors on fourth-round dives for Britspublished at 07:57 British Summer Time 5 August 2021

    Women's 10m platform final

    Leon Taylor
Olympic diving silver medallist on BBC TV

Lois Toulson has just been ticking up through the leaderboard.

Better dive, classy take off, pikes out with loads of time but just marginal over-rotation. She will be down in the 6.5-7 category. All the components are there.

Andrea Spendolini Sirieix has been pretty consistent but just made an error on the take off and not getting enough power and speed with the water hitting her on the side of her body.
