Fine effort from Tom Briscoe, a superb defensive player, to get the ball away from Warrington's Ben Currie.
Jack Hughes then concedes a penalty for a nibble at the ruck and Leeds can drill to touch.

Quote MessageRyan Hall's moustache - it looks like he's pinched it from the props department of an amateur dramatics society.
Leeds Rhinos 10-6 Warrington Wolves
Winger Ryan Hall's frankly appalling moutstache has been overshadowed by an excellent try, on the back of excellent work from his centre partner Joel Moon.
Moon dummied and wriggled, then offloaded and Jordan Lilley had presence of mind to pick out Hall.
Zak Hardaker pulls his kick wide. Leeds lead for the first time.
Not been a game for the backlines so far. The only time we've really seen the wingers is covering kicks or defending on the fringes.
All about the forwards.
Leeds get a penalty inside the 10 and they'll run it.
Another forward pass, another error, brings the set to an end. Frustrating for the Headingley crowd, other than that away support of course.
Knock-on by Tom Lineham gives Leeds a scrum deep in Warrington territory. The pendulum has swung back Leeds way.
Warrington find themselves a metre away but Carl Ablett was on hand to poach a loose pass with the visitors lurking.
Leeds charge forward and are over halfway.

Quote MessageSingleton came back against the grain and that makes it such a hard tackle for the defender to make.

Short ball switch from Rob Burrow gets Brad Singleton through a gap - he's made a few charges like that tonight - and he's rewarded this time.
Referee James Child went upstairs with an on-field try decision and no view could prove otherwise. Zak Hardaker tagged on the conversion. We're level.
Leeds inside five...
A lovely inside-outside move almost gets Leeds over but it's held up. Leeds look like they've got a scrum from a Kurt Gidley knock-on. Another opportunity for the Rhinos.
Leeds battering away and in the Warrington 10 and get a penalty when Jack Hughes fails to peel away from the ruck. Another tap.
First time we've really seen Leeds cut loose, whipping the ball from left to right.
Penalty for Kevin Penny's shove on Tom Briscoe off the ball and Leeds are within yards of the line... until a forward pass hands the ball over.

Quote MessageHe looked like he'd done his ankle 10 minutes before the end of the half. It's a big blow for Leeds, but I'm a huge fan of Jordan Lilley.

Danny McGuire is not coming back out, Leeds confirm.
He looked uncomfortable in that first half and he won't be back on.

Few players have enjoyed such a successful introduction to Super League than Adam Cuthbertson, with the ex-Newcastle prop/back-rower racking up a division-high of offloads last season.
If Leeds are to unlock Warrington, his subtlety around the ruck might well be key. We saw some flashes, but the Rhinos need more.

After a pleasing first 40 minutes for Tony Smith's side, not to mention a strong winter of recruitment, some Warrington fans will be confident their side will be involved in the mix for trophies in 2016.
History is not on their side though.
Even so, there have been a couple of near misses for the Wolves in recent seasons, losing in Grand Finals to Leeds (2012) and Wigan (2013) at Old Trafford.
Round One: 4-7 February

Friday: Hull FC v Salford, St Helens v Huddersfield, Wigan v Catalans
