It was one of two tries for the former Hull KR centre, who was joined on the scoreboard by ex-Hull FC prop Andy Lynch.
Luke Gale added the extras to all three of those scores, which proved crucial when Leeds half-back Liam Sutcliffe failed to convert two of his side's three scores.

Quote MessageRovers have managed the game really well. That's the story of the first half and it's taken Hull by surprise. Hull came with their power game and tried to run over Rovers, but Rovers have been better and have frustrated the life out of Hull. They have got to come up with a different plan to trouble this Rovers outfit.

Well it was always going to flare up at some stage.
John Boudebza started it after a shoulder charge from Josh Bowden. Everyone came flying in.
Nothing too serious, but a little bubble over of the Hull derby cauldron there. Penalty Rovers. Hooter has gone...
Hull KR 12-0 Hull FC

It's a two converted score lead.

We've got fewer than four minutes to play before the break.
Danny Houghton pinged, Rovers might be going for goal here.... no it's a tap and another penalty!
Hull KR have found their rhythm now, mixing up out the back, at the line and flat passes to work the Hull defence.
Albert Kelly is probing, Ben Cockayne chiming in and in John Boudebza they have one of the smartest hookers around.
Hull need something before half-time because they are not in this game right now.
Hull KR have gone back to basics. Gone are the bustling shifts to the wings. It's smart, position-focused footy and it paid off there with the Hull FC error.
Another penalty goes Rovers way as we move into the last 10 of the half.
Quote MessageThe power game hasn't worked for Hull FC so far. In fact Rovers have been better at it than them.
Nick Pinkney, Ex-Hull KR winger on BBC Radio Humberside
Hull KR 10-0 Hull FC
Brilliant pick-off by Ken Sio. Swooped on a loose offload by Mark Minichello as Hull tried to break, and the former Parramatta man had too much gas for the tracking Hull cover.
Whoosh. Pendulum swings back to Rovers. Josh Mantellato swings the boot to perfection this time.

Quote MessageI couldn't say this game is highly skilled so far but it is intriguing. It's an example of both teams' seasons so far.

Hull KR 4-0 Hull FC
Hull FC think they're on the board... but Danny Washbrook knocks on in the process of scoring.
James Child is the man in the video referee booth and says no try.
Marc Sneyd's kick was teasing though, that might be the route to a score for the visitors.
Just wondering whether the last few penalties have given Hull a bit of momentum in this game.

James Green left on the deck by a thumping hit by Scott Taylor. Unusual technique.
Hull FC's prop pairing of Taylor and Liam Watts both played for Rovers. No sentiment at the moment. They've blasted in.
Clock is off, looks like another concussion assessment is coming. Quite right too. It's safety first.
Another six... Hull continue to hammer away but the move comes to an end when the usually impeccable Danny Houghton makes an error and the visitors knock-on.
