Warrington head coach Tony Smith: "The nerves were going at the end. We made hard work of it. All credit to Widnes, they had a crack at us and played really well."

Warrington half-back Kurt Gidley: "That was tough and that's what I was expecting in the Challenge Cup.

"We probably made too many errors in the second part of the first half and that took it out of us. We showed some real character in the second half to fight back."

The second-rower - playing a centre after Ryan Atkins' first-half injury - dances away from one, two, three, four Widnes players to get back into the field of play.

James Child has had enough of repeat offences from Widnes and gives the Vikings a team warning. Chris Sandow's grubber kick is just about dealt with by Corey Thompson, who kicks behind the in-goal area.
