Warrington have started this second half in much the same fashion as they did the first, with far too many errors being made.

At the moment though, Wigan are making just enough mistakes of their own to keep the hosts within six points.

Another Warriors penalty sees them waste good territory, with a scrum awarded to the hosts.

Before we get back to all things Challenge Cup, some big rugby league news to bring you that has nothing to do with on-field matters.

On Friday, Castleford's lengthy legal dispute with former winger Denny Solomona, rugby union side Sale and agent Andrew Clarke came to an end, with Tigers accepting a settlement "in excess of £200,000", along with legal costs of around £100,000.

    Weather

A brief look at the weather forecast in Warrington... warm.

So how do players deal with this?

"You have to just make sure you have good game management," Wigan's Liam Farrell told BBC One at half-time.

"You'll see the game slow down now and there'll be fewer opportunities, let's hope we get on the end of them."

  9. Half-time: Warrington 12-18 Wiganpublished at 40 mins

After an error-strewn opening 20 minutes, we have a cracking game of rugby league on our hands.

Two tries from Joe Burgess and one from Liam Marshall have 19-time champions Wigan ahead at the break, but Ryan Atkins' two tries have kept Warrington in contention.

    Warrington 12-18 Wigan

Liam Marshall has just put Wigan ahead, and now he's preserved their lead with an outstanding tackle.

Tom Lineham looks like he's about to go over in the left-hand corner for Warrington, but Marshall recovers brilliantly to force the winger into touch.

Wigan are ahead again, but they shouldn't be.

Liam Marshall takes a pass from Anthony Gelling which clearly goes forward, before brushing off a weak Ryan Atkins challenge to go over the line.

It's a good finish from the young winger, but Warrington will consider themselves unfortunate.

George Williams again adds the two extra points.

    Warrington 12-12 Wigan

We'd hoped that the Challenge Cup might bring out the best in these two teams, and we might be getting something close to that now after a scrappy start.

Warrington are clearly in the ascendancy as the game approaches half-time.

Another Wigan penalty, this time for failing to retreat 10 metres, sets up a Warrington attack inside their opponents' half.

The hosts take full advantage, as Declan Patton's perfectly-weighted grubber kick finds its way to Ryan Atkins, who has his second try of the afternoon.

Patton adds the two points that level the scores.

Warrington stand-off Kevin Brown was in line to start today, but pulled up in the warm-up and was replaced by Declan Patton.

He spoke Tanya Arnold on BBC One a few moments before Joe Burgess went over for his second try: "I tore something a couple of weeks ago in the bottom of my foot.

"I went to the doctors yesterday and thought I could get the injection and play through. It's disappointing but Declan Patton's a great player so hopefully he can get the job done."

    What a response from Warrington!

Ryan Atkins times his leap perfectly to beat two Wigan defenders to Declan Patton's high kick, and he has the hosts' first try.

    Patton kicks the simple conversion.

    Warrington 0-12 Wigan

It's been pretty close as far as possession and territory are concerned, but Wigan have shown a cutting edge inside their opponents' half that Warrington have lacked.

Liam Marshall has a glorious opportunity to increase the lead, but he knocks on Thomas Leuluai's grubber kick, with a try inevitable had he pulled the ball into his grasp.

There's not much difference in the stats. Wigan have had two opportunities and been clinical."

That is a wonderful finish from Joe Burgess.

Two magnificent offloads allow Wigan to shift the ball out to the left once again when they looked to have been stopped, with Burgess taking the final pass and dving over to ground the ball with one hand.

George Williams again adds the extras.
