    Leeds 40-0 Featherstone

Leeds have had a couple of lower-league ties in the Challenge Cup so far while their contemporaries are bashing each other up - Hull FC and Castleford on Sunday being just one example!

Featherstone's end-goal is the place in the top four of the Championship and another Super 8s Qualifiers appearance... they play again on Wednesday!

    Ash Handley, con Liam Sutcliffe

Featherstone are dropping off tackles, unable to cope with the crispness of Leeds' play and they're punished by a third rapid-fire try in the space of six minutes.

The ball went left, Ryan Hall came on a switch pass and then fed the pacy Ash Handley with a smart offload to scamper in.

Cruel on Rovers. That James Lockwood sin-binning has been costly.

Leeds pulling even further clear and establishing their dominance, as Liam Sutcliffe dots the ball down over the line.

A sliding move to the right found Tom Briscoe out on the touchline, and he dinked back against the grain for the chasing Sutcliffe to score.

Damage limitation for a tiring Fev team now.

    Huddersfield 18-10 St Helens

Daylight for Huddersfield again in Super League as Adam O'Brien darts over from close range.

The lead over St Helens is back up to eight points.

    Carl Ablett, con Liam Sutcliffe

Carl Ablett - the seemingly ageless back-rower - celebrates his 300th career outing with a try.

It all came down to offloads, drawing in the tackles, flicking into the space and it was a classic back-rower's line into space for the score.

    Game over.

    Leeds 22-0 Featherstone

Michael Knowles' kick downfield just turns Leeds around in their own end. Featherstone walk to the scrum for a breather.

Their defensive work has been gruelling, which leaves less in the tank for attack. It's the difference really between the two teams.

When Leeds have it, they're much fresher. Half an hour to go.

  7. SIN-BIN (Lockwood)published at 47 mins

    Leeds 22-0 Featherstone

I don't think we've had a sin-binning so far. Featherstone's James Lockwood is the first man to go.

Dangerous contact is what Chris Kendall tells Rovers skipper Ian Hardman. Celebrating his testimonial year in 2017 is Mr Hardman.

    Leeds 22-0 Featherstone

Another dangerous Leeds set is mopped up, this time by Jason Walton who claims a Danny McGuire chip ahead of Tom Briscoe under pressure.

Not much made by way of metres from the corresponding set and the clearing kick isn't the best.

Inviting pressure. Now there's a scuffle. Tasty.

Leeds' heavy artillery in the shape of Mitch Garbutt and Adam Cuthbertson are just about denied by desperate defence.

Then John Davies plucks the ball out of the in-goal and finds his front. Featherstone clear their lines magnificently. Looked hairy for a minute there.

    Leeds 22-0 Featherstone

Ah Featherstone! Their move comes to a premature halt after a dummy runner is pulled up for obstruction.

Then John Davies is pinged for offside. Back to back pens have put Leeds in position...

    Huddersfield 12-10 St Helens

They're also just back under way in Super League, and St Helens have already crossed the whitewash in the second period against Huddersfield with a well-taken try from Mark Percival.

That one's nicely poised - follow live radio commentary via the audio icons at the top of the page.

Both these teams have been involved in Wembley classics in the Challenge Cup, not to mention some big ties en route.

Leeds' 1968 'watersplash' final against Wakefield is up there, more recently their 50-0 demolition of Hull KR had a record-breaking five try burst from Tom Briscoe.

Featherstone conquered Bradford Northern on the way to their 1983 success, a game famous for duffle coated kids invading the pitch after Northern centre Ellery Hanley ran the length to score. Who could forget the final that year either?

So, with that in mind. Your favourite Challenge Cup moments are what we're after.

    Phew.

Every neutral rugby league fan in the country (yep, even Cas and Wakey fans) will be wanting Featherstone to post some points here.

Leeds fans will be happy with the score but they know there were spells in that game where they had to graft.

Fitness might just will out in the second half. That will open the game up for the likes of Brett Ferres to cause problems with his power and soft hands.

Leeds Rhinos have a foot in the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup after a ruthless first 40 minutes at Headingley.

Stevie Ward and Brett Ferres got early tries to put the Rhinos in control but Featherstone stood up and went toe-to-toe.

They certainly made life difficult for the home side but Joel Moon and Ash Handley tries before the break have taken this game away from them.

Whether Rovers will get the try they deserve might rest on how Leeds approach the next period. Their fans on the Western Terrace at the very least have earned some points to cheer.

TRY - Leeds 22-0 Featherstonepublished at 39 mins

    Ash Handley

The big difference between Leeds and Featherstone in attack is the amount of options, the running lines and the switching of the point of the attack... and this try was a perfect example of that.

Leeds pulled Fev out on the right, came back to the left and when Ryan Hall bust the line, Ash Handley was up in support for a walk-in.

Half-time in Super League and St Helens reduced their deficit just before the break at Huddersfield with a try from forward Luke Thompson.

Huddersfield have been on top, so will feel a little aggrieved to only be six points in front.

Penny for Brian McDermott's thoughts? His Leeds side have plenty of points on the board and are yet to be breached but it hasn't been all comfortable viewing.

He will be pleased to see that hooker Matt Parcell is back out after his bang on the chops. All stitched up and ready to go.

Featherstone are bang up for this though, just a shame for them they haven't been able to release their back-line in space.

    Huddersfield 12-0 St Helens

Huddersfield have doubled their lead against St Helens in Super League just before half-time. Martin Ridyard is the man adjudged to have touched down over the whitewash.

But both teams have lost players with what appear to be injuries, according to our BBC Radio Merseyside commentators. Saints' Ryan Morgan and Giants' Jake Mamo have both gone off before the interval.
