    New Zealand 0-2 Fiji

Fiji have made three times the metres that New Zealand have so far. 600m to 200m.

Better position for the Kiwis here. Russell Packer is on to add his grunt and grind. He's a fearsome chap.

Kiwis get to the 20 on the last but turn the ball over. Better. But not brilliant yet.

    Not by some distance.

    New Zealand 0-2 Fiji

Brad Takaiangi takes a massive claim off a chip kick by Henry Raiwalui which looks to clear the lines.

Akuila Uate nicks it off him but then spills. Possession changing hands frequently.

    Penalty Kiwis.

One-way traffic for Fiji but just two points to show for it.

Scratch that, he's a tough bit of teak. Tapine's been taped up and sent back out.

Will this break help the Kiwis? They've got some 80 metres to go in this set to score.

That won't happen because Nelson Asofa-Solomona has just spilled the ball. He's a dead-set giant.

    New Zealand 0-2 Fiji

Fiji went left and right and through the middle but somehow New Zealand keep them out.

They look so threatening. Eloni Vunakece, Ashton Sims and Tui Kamikamica keep knocking on the door.

It took all of Adam Blair's might to stop steam-train centre Akuila Uate a moment ago.

However, blow for the Kiwis, mobile back-rower Joseph Tapine looks like he's limping off here with a knee injury.

    He's just come on.

Meanwhile Eloni Vunakece and Tui Kamikamica have taken Fiji right downfield and the last tackle play just pins New Zealand back on their own goalline...

Then Jordan Rapana drops the ball 20 out! Fiji back on the attack.

    New Zealand 0-2 Fiji

The Kiwis look a bit rattled. Their execution isn't there, their rhythm isn't there. They're struggling for field position.

Which of these two teams is Tier One again? Fiji are the supposed underdogs, but certainly don't look it.

Wonder when we'll see Nelson Asofa-Solomona? He'll add some size and punch to the Kiwi team.

Desperate stuff from the Kiwis out on the left edge. The winger Marcelo Montoya tries to bludgeon his way over on that side but a desperate scramble from Roger Tuivasa-Sheck forces him out.

RTS hasn't had a carry yet. Says a lot about the way this game is going.

Viliame Kikau with a line-busting run. Fiji forcing the Kiwis back to their goal-line.

    New Zealand 0-0 Fiji

Move came to nothing for David Kidwell's New Zealand. Fiji see off the threat.

Their set goes well, and then they force an error from the Kiwis in their 20 after a kick from Jarryd Hayne. Fiji celebrate the error like they've scored a try - it says a lot about how they're feeling right now.

Fiji's turn for butterfingers. Good position was being established but Tui Kamikamica couldn't keep the ball in his control.

Kiwis need a good set to lift the pressure on their line.

New Zealand making a nervy start, almost conceded off a Brayden Wiliame break and then coughing up the ball mid-set.

Huge let off for New Zealand there.

Brayden Wiliame raced through after a last-tackle powerplay by the Fijians, spun in the tackle to ground it but the ball just squirmed out at the last.

    Relief for the home crowd.

Classic southern hemisphere style rugby league by these two teams, shades of the old NRL-style tight sets, completion rate high and a long kick.

Kiwis then cough up a penalty which gives Fiji a chance to attack.
