Melbourne 10-4 Leeds
Both sides turning the ball over cheaply, perhaps the pace and the lack of game-time and jet lag has started to take its toll.
Melbourne on the last... high kick and as Billy Slater is escorted off the ball, Leeds concede the penalty.
They're going for the two.
Melbourne 10-4 Leeds
Just as I published that last post, Leeds got a penalty and the ball was slung to touch.
Again the ball is worked wide to the right side.
Leeds really moving the ball around and then after a wonderful kick in behind force a drop out.
Superb. Great response after heavy pressure.
Melbourne 10-4 Leeds
Melbourne kicking into gear now and Leeds are struggling to get their hands on the ball.
Another slick, sliding move to the left is dropped with the line in sight by centre Curtis Scott and Leeds survive.
However, it's like a switch was flicked by that Leeds opening score and since Melbourne have found their rhythm.
Brodie Croft, goal Cameron Smith
What a way to repay the faith paid to him by coach Craig Bellamy than to score a try in the World Club Challenge.
That's just what Brodie Croft has done. Cam Smith tacked on the extra two and Leeds find themselves six behind.
Melbourne 4-4 Leeds
Melbourne inside the Leeds 10.
Brodie Croft sets off on a run and takes the ball to the line but there's concern about a double-movement.
He starts short, but we're looking at whether it's momentum that took him over the whitewash.
Melbourne 4-4 Leeds
Leeds run aground on the last tackle with a disappointing end to the set.
Richie Myler is taking the ball to the line and testing Melbourne's defence. He even got raps off 'The King' Wally Lewis. That's some commendation.
Melbourne 4-4 Leeds
A blow for Leeds as forward Adam Cuthbertson leaves the field with blood running down the side of his head. Ouch.
Storm's turn to fizz the ball wide but Leeds do brilliantly to shove centre Curtis Scott into touch. Leeds scrum head-and-feed.
Matt Parcell sets off and gains some big metres. He's having a great game.
Melbourne 4-4 Leeds
Melbourne cranking up the pressure now.
They get the ball on the last within five metres and Billy Slater sets off on a little slippery run...
Just as he's about to be downed, he offloads to Cameron Smith who slides in a delicate grubber.
Ryan Hall gathers but is pushed behind the dead-ball line by Suliasi Vunivalu and Leeds will drop out after the 20 minutes drinks break.
Melbourne 4-4 Leeds
Big Cumbrian prop Brad Singleton just put a shoulder on Storm's Kiwi bulldozer Nelson Asofa-Solomona. The shudder could be felt back in the UK.
What a battle it will be up the middle. Melbourne really carving up the metres.

It was almost a gimme for Cameron Smith. That's a let-off for Leeds.
Jesse Bromwich
Just as Leeds got their field position for the try off a penalty, Melbourne enjoy the same.
The try came from the soft hands of Brodie Croft, who took the ball to the line and instead of going 'out the back' with a deep pass, instead popped a flat ball to Jesse Bromwich who cannot be stopped near the line.
All-square after the kick was missed.

Kyle: Excellent start from Leeds and a great finish from Ryan Hall. Good to see Leeds are having a go, then again we always do.
Karl: Good atmosphere down under, Aussie taking it seriously for a change.
Melbourne 0-4 Leeds
Leeds certainly not trying to tuck the ball up the jumper and grind, the ball is being whizzed wide at every opportunity.
The completion rate must be really high too, which is excellent going given the tenacity of the Storm defence.
Leeds' big forwards are enjoying a good battle.
Meanwhile, Leeds full-back Jack Walker had to put his body on the line a moment ago, Cameron Munster put a wonderful grubber through and Walker 'dived on the grenade' to save a try.
Melbourne 0-4 Leeds
Aussie commentators already looking for excuses, putting the score down to Melbourne's lack of competitive action.
Leeds have been a bit rusty in their first couple of games themselves but nothing sharpens the focus quite like a battle with the NRL clubs.

Hats off to Leeds - Stevie Ward comes up with a lovely short-side play to hit Ryan Hall, and Hall won't be stopped from there.
Ryan Hall
Leeds Rhinos made the pressure and possession pay with a lovely move to the left side that was finished off by big winger Ryan Hall.
Rhinos hammered away with one-out carries to force Melbourne to squeeze in at the middle and, when the last tackle came, Stevie Ward flung a cut-out ball to Hall who kept in the field of play to touch down.
Kallum Watkins missed the kick from the touchline, but it's a great start for Leeds.
Melbourne 0-0 Leeds
Brad Singleton romps froward and drags Leeds to within 10. Melbourne fail to clear the ruck and it's another Rhinos penalty.
Great position here...
Melbourne 0-0 Leeds
Storm show their class with a shortside play down the left side, Will Chambers kicked ahead and Billy Slater chased, but the Rhinos mopped up just in time.
Long kick downfield by Leeds in the following set has Slater penned back in his own in-goal. Clever play from the Rhinos.
Melbourne tend to build pressure, racking up completed sets but they've kicked early in the set a few times to try to burn up some Leeds energy.
Now a Rhinos pen off a Tim Glasby error in the tackle.
Melbourne 0-0 Leeds
Kallum Watkins takes a carry and has Melbourne scrambling, there's a genuine respect for the England centre from the NRL clubs.
Clever kick to touch turns Melbourne round and has them scrambling out from their 20.
They're doing well to limit Storm's metres.
