Warrington are in bad form going into this final, they haven't planned that going into this but this stadium and atmosphere can be a great catalyst to get you out of that and come in with a specific game plan.

St Helens don't have to change anything, they've been the best side.

  8. Wire back at Wembleypublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 24 August 2019

St Helens v Warrington (15:00 BST)

Warrington have almost been fixtures in rugby league's annual showpiece in recent years.

This is the Wire's sixth appearance in the past 11 finals, although their two most recent visits to Wembley have ended in defeat.

Last year, it was Catalans who were their conquerors as the Dragons became the first side from outside the UK to win rugby league's oldest cup competition.

  9. Super Saintspublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 24 August 2019

St Helens v Warrington (15:00 BST)

It's first v second in the Super League table, although to say these two teams are neck and neck at the top of the standings would be doing St Helens a huge disservice.

Saints are 16 points clear of the Wolves and have already wrapped up their first silverware of 2019 - the League Leaders' Shield.

Head coach Justin Holbrook is leaving the club at the end of the season to return to Australia - his team will take some stopping as they bid to mark his farewell with a domestic treble.

    Jamie Peacock

It's going to be difficult for the players in the middle. I do think the sunshine favours St Helens' pack because it's more mobile.

Blake Austin will be a miss for Warrington, they'll have to change how they play.

For the coaches of today's finalists - St Helens' Justin Holbrook and Warrington's Steve Price - the contest brings a mixture of rivalry and friendship.

The two Aussies have known each other since they were seven-year-old team-mates in schoolboy rugby league.

We got them together to talk about friendship, their two teams and what we can expect from the 2019 decider.

The surrounding areas of Wembley have been developed significantly since the ground was re-opened in 2007 - to an extent that you actually can’t see the ground at all now (except for the arch) when you alight at Wembley Stadium.

And the concourse leading to the ground gets fuller and fuller with posh shops and expensive coffee bars with every passing year.

  14. 'It'll be tough for Warrington'published at 14:17 British Summer Time 24 August 2019

    Brian Noble
Ex-Great Britain coach on BBC One

When you go through the Saints side and look at how slick and quick they are in the back field, it's a tough challenge for Warrington.

The big question is how are Warrington is going to match this St Helens team? Where will a Warrington try come from?

  15. No Austin for Warringtonpublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 24 August 2019

    Blake AustinImage source, SWPIX.COM

One player missing from Warrington's line-up is influential half-back Blake Austin, who has been unable to recover from an ankle injury in time to play in today's final.

He'll be a big miss for the Wolves - he's shown time and again this season that he has the craft and creativity to unlock any defence.

It's a big day for England international Ben Currie, a hugely-talented second-rower, being asked to partner Declan Patton in the halves.

Challenge Cup final day is usually a day when rugby league legends are made.

Think the Watersplash final of 1968, the 1985 classic between Wigan and Hull FC, Sheffield shocking Wigan in 1998, Danny Houghton's last-ditch tackle on Ben Currie in 2016...

And is it really 25 years since Martin Offiah scored THAT length-of-the-field try for Wigan against Leeds?! That's one of my earliest rugby league memories and I never get tired of watching it.
