Talking of New Zealand v Lebanon, this piece is well worth a read about how Michael Cheika is balancing his role as Lebanon head coach with leading Argentina in rugby union.

Cheika can call upon captain Mitchell Moses who made the NRL Grand Final with the Paramatta Eels this evening. And he has a few other big NRL names to bolster his side.

"We need to work on defence. That was a big area for me. We have to improve defensively.

"We've got to come out again and stick together. We have a great team spirit.

"This is massive, the way we perform. It's encouraging kids to pick up a rugby ball. We want to perform well but this is just the start. We want to keep coming back to the World Cup."

Ireland's Joe Keyes on BBC Two: "It was a really proud day for me and my family to play my first game in the World Cup.

"I'm learning loads and trying to find my place in the team. It's about building relationships.

"Everyone is aiming for the quarter-finals. Getting out of the group is massive, we didn't get their last time. We're looking to build on that.

"We focus on Lebanon, we're not looking beyond that too far.

"Hopefully we can do the same next week and keep rolling."

Ireland head coach Ged Corcoran on BBC Two: "First game, new group, I'm really pleased with where we are and what we've delivered.

"The only thing missing was the 14 points we missed on goal kicks, but I can't ask for much more really.

"Jamaica made it hard but nothing that we weren't expecting.

"Luke Keary is a great bloke on and off the field. Our spine complements each other really well.

"We never worry about the scoreboard. It's about building pressure points, that helps us score

"I think 100% we can go far. I believe in the players and staff and think we can go to the quarters."

The scoreline tells you everything. Ireland were the much more dominant side. Jamaica will take a lot from the game.

There are two things they need to work on and not worry about the score. Line speed and controlling the ruck area are the two things that they need to work on and improve in defence. You have to make tackles and they have to stick.

The effort in defence scrambling back was marvellous though and you have to admire them for that.

Ireland stand-off and man of the match Luke Keary on BBC Two: "It was awesome just to put the jersey on. It's been a special night, the boys performed well that was a little bit of rust but it was exciting just to share the field with Jamaica. Their first game in the tournament. They'll have a big future.

"Hopefully we can get somewhere. It's a step up against Lebanon next week. We're a close group, we're going to give it our best this tournament.

"Next week will be a big test for us."

There are a fair few tries to look through from this game. Well actually 10 in total but this one from Toby King has to be the pick of the bunch.
