Salford head coach Ian Watson told BBC Sport:

"It is outstanding. The boys were fantastic. The amount of pressure we had to stand to win shows the character of the group.

"We said at half-time, that score doesn't worry me, we just need to be more patience and turn the field position around.

"It's the resilience of the boys is phenomenal."

Warrington head coach Steve Price told BBC Sport:

"Our execution was the difference. They handled the conditions better.

"We just weren't hitting the mark today. We went 18 in front and were in control but credit to Salford I thought they were the better team today."

Salford stand-off Kevin Brown told BBC Sport:

"The conditions played a big part for us. We spoke about resilience and hanging in there and we had to have that in bucket loads.

"If you try and play pretty in this you get beaten. We were trying to build patience, it took 75 minutes but we got there.

"We wanted the rain and mud. They have some fantastic players so it was a leveller."

1969 was the last time Salford reached the Challenge Cup final.

What a journey it's been for Ian Watson's side. One of the nicest guys in sport. Credit to him and his Salford side.

Just to clear up any doubts you may have if you've not seen Joey Lussick's try - the likelihood is he did score the try fair and square.

I don't think Robert Hicks was doubting that but the camera angles were all subjective at best and he went with Liam Moore's on-field call.

My word, the errors Warrington are making right now are incredible.

Rhys Williams wins about 30 metres with a tremendous solo run which came off the back of him scooping up a Warrington kick.

All of a sudden Salford are camped in Warrington's half and they look good.

How on earth have Salford defended that?!

Warrington throw everything but the kitchen sink at the Red Devils and Anthony Gelling can't quite work onto a high ball on the fifth tackle.

Salford are thwarting their efforts but you get the feeling if they can march upfield and score again this is over.

You have to say, that Salford try came off the back of Gareth Widdop's spill directly after he went over for Warrington.

There's four points in this game, just over 10 minutes to go and Salford look in good shape despite being behind.

Blimey. On the restart Gareth Widdop spills the ball behind him and knocks it dead.

A lapse of concentration there! Warrington are forced into a goal line drop-out. Now would be the time for Salford to capitalise on that error.
