    Salford 6-8 Warrington

This is a bitty, scrappy game right now. Daryl Clark tries to offload to someone, anyone, but the Warrington hooker is crowded by a sea of Salford players.

Credit to Salford, they've done well to work their way back into this game.

    Salford 6-8 Warrington

Matty Ashton races through thinking he's clean through but the Warrington man is held up after it's judged that Daryl Clarke had knocked on.

It's certainly a game where you feel any margin that can be exploited probably will be.

Nearly half an hour in and a first set restart goes to Salford.

A frantic match if I've ever seen one and Salford are now in the ascendency.

Watkins first to loose ball to pull try back for Salford

Salford are over and it's come thanks to Kallum Watkins.

He crosses over after working onto a loose ball as Warrington's Matty Ashton fails to collect.

Video referee Robert Hicks takes a look but there's nowt wrong with it.

Krisnan Inu adds the two and it's a two-point game.

  7. PENALTY: Salford 0-8 Warringtonpublished at 20 mins

    Stefan Ratchford

Warrington pad out their lead as they win a penalty in front of the posts and Stefan Ratchford kicks with ease.

With conditions like this, always worth going for the extra two if available.

    Salford 0-6 Warrington

Rhys Williams is called into action to kick the ball dead after an attempted kick and chase from Matty Ashton to his Warrington teammate Jake Mamo.

The Wire are controlling this match so far but Salford seem to be holding on a bit better than Wigan did against Leeds thus far.

  9. Postpublished at 17 mins

    Salford 0-6 Warrington

Blake Austin puts a tremendous kick in on the turnover for Warrington to keep Salford pegged in their own 10.

For what it's worth, Warrington are attacking the right-hand side of the field, much as Leeds did in the first half of their semi-final.

Are the omens on the Wire's side?

Gez: Be great to have a Salford Leeds final.

Jon: Salford and Warrington now playing the watersplash semi final.

We know what you are saying, Jon. That watersplash Challenge Cup final of 1968 was something else! Iconic.

    Toby King, goal Stefan Ratchford

    Media caption,

King goes over to open scoring for Warrington

    Warrington make their advantage count!

The Wire, moments after Tyrone McCarthy's yellow card, cross over with ease as Toby King goes over in the corner.

Stefan Ratchford makes no mistake with the boot.

  12. SIN-BINpublished at 12 mins

    Salford 0-0 Warrington

Tyrone McCarthy goes into the bin courtesy of a reckless tackle and Salford are temporarily down to 12 men.

    Can Warrington capitalise?

  13. Postpublished at 12 mins

    Salford 0-0 Warrington

Krisnan Inu almost follows Luke Gale's effort for Leeds earlier on by kicking what looks to be a huge 40-20.

It's got a fair bit of welly on it but it's not quite there. Salford look unfazed with Warrington's keen start, mind.

  14. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Salford 0-0 Warrington

Anthony Gelling valiantly tries to make a dash to the try-line as Warrington maintain this early spell of pressure.

Krisnan Inu is called into action as he runs Gelling in to touch as Salford deal with the danger.

  16. NO TRYpublished at 9 mins

    Salford 0-0 Warrington

Video referee Robert Hicks is called into action early on in this game as Gareth Widdop looks to go over for Warrington.

Mark: Would like to see Salford beat Warrington but I'll take a less one-sided match than the first semi.

Andy: Lot of good performances in that Leeds Rhinos side today, but special credit to Mik Oledzki, Cam Smith and Kruise Leeming. 22, 21 and 25 respectively, the potential cornerstones of that middle unit for the next few years.

  18. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Salford 0-0 Warrington

Gareth Widdop attempts a kick as Warrington break but the ball cannons off Gil Dudson and Widdop catches it back and presses on.

Fortunate, but impressive. An even start, here, with much of the play in the middle of the park.

We are under way in this second semi-final and if, for whatever reason you can't see the game, let me tell you this - it is wet and rainy still.

Who do you think will join Leeds in the final and why?

Eizabeth: I’d love to see Salford get some success & win this semi. Would also make for an interesting final with Kallum & Tui playing against Leeds.
