  1. Farewell!

    FT: Warrington 14-27 Hull FC

As play-off games go, that was up there. Credit to Hull FC who put in one of their performances of the season to go through.

They look a team reinvigorated from earlier this season when their loss to Warrington saw former coach Lee Radford sacked.

The Wire's luck on the other hand, ran out for the second season in a row.

We'll be back tomorrow to help you follow all the action as Catalans Dragons take on Leeds Rhinos in the second of this year's Super League play-off eliminators.

For now though, thank you for joining us.

  2. 'We couldn't hit our markers tonight'

    FT: Warrington 14-27 Hull FC

Warrington Wolves coach Steve Price told Sky Sports:

"The markers we set for ourselves as a club we couldn't hit tonight. Our kicking game in the second half let us down.

"Credit to Hull they were fantastic and I thought they played a really good game.

"We tried to chase points and Jake Mamo is quite athletic and offers a different point of attack to change it up a bit but it wasn't to be.

"When we got within one try with 18 minutes to go I felt really confident but we couldn't execute our gameplan how we wanted to be."

  3. 'We were oustanding'

    FT: Warrington 14-27 Hull FC

Hull FC interim coach Andy Last told Sky Sports:

"It was outstanding. Our numbers were really high. We've done a really good job. We asked for our best performance of the season and we got it.

"We're going to have to raise it for next week against Wigan.

"I made sure with it being a play-off game we got it right and I spoke from an emotional point of view before the game.

"With performances like this hopefully it strengthens my case for the job."

  4. 'It's been a long time coming'

    FT: Warrington 14-27 Hull FC

Hull FC half-back Marc Sneyd told Sky Sports:

"It was a long time coming. We've been getting our performance better and better for the past five or six weeks.

Since we came back in the summer, it was the first time we've had a decent amount of time to prepare for a game.

"It was a very enjoyable end. Nothing drastic has changed but we're doing little things 10 times better. Our structures are the same but we're doing them better and holding ourselves accountable."

  5. Post update

    FT: Warrington 14-27 Hull FC

Nobody has won a Super League title having finished the regular season in sixth place.

However this is not a normal year and, should they make it to the Grand Final by beating Wigan next Thursday, Hull FC will have home advantage.

Warrington duck out and their players and coaching staff look stunned.

  6. Full time

    Warrington 14-27 Hull FC

My word, what a performance from Hull FC who progress to meet Wigan Warriors in next week's Super League play-off semi-finals and stand 80 minutes away from a first Grand Final since 2006.

Warrington coach Steve Price's poor post-season fortune continues as his side bow out at the elimination stage for the second season in a row.

    Hull FC celebrate
  7. TRY: Warrington 14-27 Hull FC

    Jake Connor, goal Marc Sneyd

    All over.

As a crowd of Hull FC players try to ground Warrington within their own goal area once again, Ben Currie appears to lose possession of the ball and Jake Connor grounds the ball.

It's taken upstairs and, after seeing every conceivable angle, it's given.

Marc Sneyd makes it five kicks from five.

  8. Post update

    Warrington 14-21 Hull FC

Mahe Fonua puts in a monster of a tackle on Toby King to thwart another Warrington drive from their own half.

This is looking like it's all over, already.

  9. Post update

    Warrington 14-21 Hull FC

Haha on Hull's fifth tackle, right in front of the posts, Marc Sneyd looked primed to score another drop-goal.

In the end they go for glory before Warrington win back from the turnover and begin a desperate charge out of their own half.

  10. Post update

    Warrington 14-21 Hull FC

Hull FC are turning the screw now and it all results from a tremendous drive up field from Josh Griffin.

On their last tackle, they try to work something special on the wing before winning another set of six.

Warrington are well and truly on the back foot as Toby King receives treatment during a break in play due to a cut to the eye.

  11. PENALTY: Warrington 14-21 Hull FC

    Marc Sneyd

Marc Sneyd's fine form with the boot continues this evening as he kicks a penalty goal with ease.

Could this be Hull FC's pathway to next week's Super League play-off semi-finals?

They lead by seven points with 10 minutes remaining.

  12. Post update

    Warrington 14-19 Hull FC

That is stunning. Stefan Ratchford collects a high ball and Hull FC do well to run upfield, put him under pressure and get him down in his own in-goal area.

Warrington need something special and they need it quickly.

  13. Post update

    Warrington 14-19 Hull FC

Anthony Gelling spills the ball as Warrington are put under pressure in the opening stages of another set.

Are we seeing Warrington panic as time ticks down? Hull are looking food defensively, right now.

  14. Post update

    Warrington 14-19 Hull FC

Stefan Ratchford loops in a high kick on Warrington's fifth tackle as the hosts valiantly chase to touch down what could be a decisive try at this stage of the game.

It bounces wildly and Hull sheepishly punt it out for a goal-line drop-out and Warrington's trip back upfield ends with a Chris Hill knock-on.

  15. Post update

    Warrington 14-19 Hull FC

    Matt Newsum

BBC Sport at the Halliwell Jones Stadium

    Blake Austin

Like Jake Connor, Blake Austin injected some spark there for Warrington, speeding up and whipping a ball off his hip to Matty Ashton who caught and dived in a fluid action.

That's the threat he poses, Austin. He's a bigger stand-off, can carry with menace and has the quality to pull off passes. That has to be the game plan... get at the Hull defence as no player wants a player picking them out at pace like that.

As for the Gelling no-try, Hull must have been confident it wasn't going to be given with ball-in-touch but I'd be having jitters if I were Andy Last. Play to the whistle...

  16. Post update

    Warrington 14-19 Hull FC

A crossfield kick goes into the corner from Warrington on their fifth tackle and it eventually works to a pressured Anthony Gelling.

He attempts to kick and chase before he's barged in to touch by the visitors who back off in time for Josh Charnley to sneak in and touch the ball down.

It goes to the video ref who correctly judges no try as the ball very slightly went in to touch as it bobbled into the in-goal area.

  17. Post update

    Warrington 14-19 Hull FC

If you're Adrian Lam or Kristian Woolf watching tonight, what are you thinking about what might be to come?

Warrington have impressed this season but look off the pace tonight. Hull FC look better than anyone could have imagined.

The hosts continue to drive upfield frantically, can they make it count?

  18. TRY: Warrington 14-19 Hull FC

    Matty Ashton, goal Stefan Ratchford

    Matty Ashton

Two tries for Matty Ashton and are Warrington back in this after he crashes in at the corner?

Stefan Ratchford adds the two to get them within five points of Hull FC.

  19. Post update

    Warrington 8-19 Hull FC

    Matt Newsum

BBC Sport at Halliwell Jones Stadium

Brilliant work to fix up the defender there by Jake Connor, and then the slight of hand to pop the ball to the onrushing Chris Satae.

Think he works best at full-back. Free to roam, less of an organisational role, allows him to drift where the ball is.

Like Jay says, Warrington went out of the play-offs at the first stage last season, Steve Price was pretty despondent then, I wonder what is crashing through his mind right now... this wasn't supposed to happen.

  20. Post update

    Warrington 8-19 Hull FC

Blimey, Warrington look all over the place. Bureta Faraimo races down the wing to try and cross over for his second of the night.

And it takes four Wire players to scoop him in to touch. Frantic.
