Samoa make it to first World Cup final with golden-point victory

Just over five months after three thrilling World Cup tournaments were held in England, international rugby league is back.

Although the hosts managed to win the wheelchair tournament, they were knocked out of the semi-finals in the men's and women's events, with the men suffering an agonising golden-point defeat by Samoa.

But today, England's men and women are back in action for the first time since, with thoughts already turning towards the 2025 Rugby League World Cup, which will be hosted by today's opponents France.
