Another high tackle from Moses Mbye and it's another penalty for Catalans.

This time, they are taking a shot at goal.

St Helens full-back Jack Welsby has to field Tyrone May's teasing grubber kick behind the tryline.

He tries his best to get out, but the kick-chase is a good one.

Under a quarter of this match to go.

St Helens get into a good position going forward, but you don't expect Jonny Lomax to knock on from there.

The sweat must be making the ball like a bar of soap out there.

Catalans needed that as Saints were gaining a modicum of control.

    Great defending from St Helens.

Moses Mbye makes amends for his penalty as he wins the ball off Paul Seguier in the tackle.

As Americans love to say about the NFL, 'Attack wins games, defence wins championships'.

A late shot from Moses Mbye on Mitchell Pearce as he kicks the ball away gives a welcome penalty to Catalans.

They are going to run it, rather than opt for a shot at goal.

St Helens never get fazed. They've been here before.

It will be interesting to see what that does to the Catalans' mentality.

Where do they go from here? Have they got the patience and belief to take this to the wire?

    Will Hopoate

It is a costly Catalans Dragons mistake!

St Helens get a repeat set of six in a good position and they work it well, with centre Will Hopoate cutting inside to devastating effect to get the first try of the game.

Is that a costly mistake as Matt Whitley knocks on?

St Helens have the put-in at a scrum just inside the opposing half.

Sam Tomkins sends up another high kick, but again top marks to Jon Bennison for how he handles the high ball.

Saints again work the ball up the middle before Lewis Dodd's kick is taken by Tom Davies.

The half starts in a similar vein.

St Helens complete their set and Catalans end theirs with a long kick, which is smartly fielded in the deep by Jon Bennison.

But they are a long way from the Catalans tryline.

This game has not yet graced us with any attacking prowess. But big games are often like this.

We're halfway through this match, but barely any closer to knowing who is heading to Old Trafford.

The forwards have really trucked it up tonight in that first 40 minutes in the French heat. Can they keep going or will space open up for the backs?

The players are back on the field. Let's go again.

Hull KR can show they belong in the Super League play-offs in Saturday's semi-final at Wigan Warriors, according to head coach Willie Peters.

Peters, who played in the 2000 Grand Final for Wigan, has already steered the Robins to a Challenge Cup final.

The Robins are 80 minutes away from a first Grand Final in their history, against a Warriors club with five summer-era wins.

"I think it's exciting," Peters told BBC Radio Humberside.

"It's a great opportunity, Wigan are there, it's no fluke they won the League Leaders' [Shield] because of what they've done year in year in out, and Saints are the same, they get their culture right and bring in the right players.

"We want to be a top-four club year in year out and we've been so this year, we deserve to be there. To go to Wigan, we've beaten every team in the competition bar Warrington. We need to show our best."

Wigan lost to Hull KR their Challenge Cup semi-final meeting, but have picked themselves up from that golden-point disappointment to pick up the second piece of silverware for the season in the League Leaders' Shield.

Jake Wardle and Bevan French both made the Super League Dream Team, while French has been nominated for the Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel and Matt Peet for coach of the year.

While that trophy and the individual awards are rewards for consistency, Peet knows that the big prize - the Grand Final trophy - is what will really count as they chase a 23rd all-time title.

"It's another opportunity to have a week working together, be involved in such a prestigious occasion - and that's what you plan for in pre-season," Peet told BBC Radio Manchester.

"It's important what it means to us, we talk about that a lot but Hull KR are very motivated as well.

"We'd love to get there for our fans and there are so many reasons that motivate us."

While this match has a break for half-time, it is worth pointing out that this is the first semi-final.

Tomorrow winners of the League Leaders' Shield, Wigan Warriors face Challenge Cup runners-up Hull KR in the second semi-final.

And we have a couple of things to whet appetites for that one.

There have been some errors but that has added to the spectacle in a way.

That has built the pressure. It is building and building.

Something will open up second half and we might see a flurry of tries.
